About me

Leadership, Executive & Career Coach for the arts and cultural sector.
Based in the New Forest, working across Hampshire and Dorset and virtually. You can choose to meet in a cafe in Lymington, Southampton, Christchurch, Bournemouth, or perhaps a walking session in the beautiful countryside of the New Forest.

I believe that coaching can be transformative, it was for me.

Inspiring Creative Leaders
Three Coaching offers for Leaders and Managers
1..  Coaching Series
2.  Circuit Breaker
3.  Introduction to Management and Leadership Course

Option 1 – A Coaching Series (online or in person - in a cafe or on a walk)
The second way in which I work alongside arts leaders is through a series of coaching sessions.
Offered to all arts managers, leaders and executives, coaching offers dedicated and supportive thinking time just for you.
This may work for you if you are
- navigating your way in a new role or in a new company
- searching for your next step and would like support to identify what that is or with applications and interview prep
- wanting support with a particular element of your work or have something you want to think through and resolve
- wanting to increase your confidence
- in need of dedicated time to think
- in need of dedicated time for your own development
Includes email support between sessions.
"Working with Fiona as a coach during my first Executive role was incredibly valuable. Our fortnightly sessions were a much-needed, held space to examine my practices and priorities. Her gentle questions and even more importantly, her patience and deliberate silences, helped me navigate a career transition in a way that encouraged self-care as a necessary aspect of strong leadership." (Nicola, Executive Director)

Option 2 - Circuit Breaker (online or in person - in a cafe or on a walk).
This 3rd option is a one off intensive scenario/topic driven coaching session for focused thinking time (2-4 hours)
May include –
o   Adjusting to leadership and management – you’ve been leading your team for a while or have moved into a more senior leadership role and would benefit from additional support
o   Supporting a team member with neurodiversity, long term illness, mental health condition, different cultural experience…and wanting to consider how best to support them whilst also taking care of the rest of the team and yourself
o   Strategy session – what’s on your mind? Could be a funding application, recruitment, major project that you and your team needs to deliver…. I will support you to break it down, identify the priorities and devise a realistic and achievable course of action.
o   Topic of your choice.
Includes a second 30 minute coaching session within 4-6 weeks for you to talk about how embedding what you have learned is going, unpick any ongoing issues and find solutions.
Having someone truly listen and then become a guide, has helped me to gain proper insight and a way forward with my problems - and that is a gift. Fiona does this with ease, clearly cares and makes sure there are real actions taken to move forward, thank you. (Andy - Content Creator).

Option 3 - A new and different approach to Management Development Training.
This is an intensive coaching led training programme for arts and creative industries managers and leaders. Option to include a one to one coaching session each within 6 weeks of the training.
For small groups of no more than 7.
I recommend scheduling over 3 half days across 3 weeks to allow reflection time but can also be delivered across one week.
"A very useful deep dive into leadership and management" (Seb, Production Manager)
"I felt the style of training meant it was led by us and we were facilitated to come to our own answers/development by thinking for ourselves - which I hope to embody in my own management!!" (Amy, Communications Manager)

How I can help you - I will support you by giving you focused time to think to work through options; asking you incisive questions to help you to formulate ideas, unlock solutions and figure out your next steps.

Testimonials:
I came to work with Fiona after much consideration about my next steps professionally, having considered working with a coach for a while. Through working with Fiona I now have a greater sense of the type of leader I am, and a deeper understanding of my strengths and the areas that I need to develop. Through exploring my personal and professional values, I have a much clearer sense of how to hold a team and ensure that we are getting the best from each other.  (Phil, Participation Director).

Having taken on my senior role during the pandemic at an overwhelming time, I lacked confidence in what I was doing. Working with Fiona helped me to step outside of the situation and look at it from a different perspective, which I really needed. I felt very supported - she also gave me the breathing space to break down the challenges and find my way to practical solutions to tackle them, which I’ll be taking forward. Thank you Fiona. (Communications Director)

Working with Fiona as a coach during my first Executive role was incredibly valuable. Our fortnightly sessions were a much-needed, held space to examine my practices and priorities. Her gentle questions and even more importantly, her patience and deliberate silences, helped me navigate a career transition in a way that encouraged self-care as a necessary aspect of strong leadership. Fiona's coaching helped me reveal insights that were sometimes surprising, but were also often an articulation of core values that I had not previously been able to take the time and focus to explore fully. Whether embarking on a new adventure or if you're already half way up a mountain, I wholeheartedly recommend Fiona for your support team - you'll be the stronger for it, and much more able to enjoy the views.' (Nicola, Executive Director)

Thank you so much! I really appreciated the space to think through some of the trickier issues around management and I felt the style of training meant it was led by us and we were facilitated to come to our own answers/development by thinking for ourselves – which I hope to embody in my management!! (Amy)

I met with Fiona several times during a change-laden time when I needed some balanced perspective.
Fiona’s ability to support and challenge my thinking led me to new insights which ultimately, enhanced my professional growth. She quickly understood my background and needs and offered specific questions that evoked greater clarity and efficiencies. I would thoroughly recommend her expertise, not to mention she’s an absolute dream to work with! (Hilary)

I was really interested in the idea of coaching as was at a moment in my career when I felt like I wanted to take a step back and look at my style, my strengths, my weaknesses etc from a bigger picture perspective.
Fiona really enabled me to do that as well as helping me deal with specific work situations in the moment. She listened with care and used the sessions to guide my thinking and the way in which I examined and thought of each situation. It was invaluable time spent on myself. (Fran)

Having someone truly listen and then become a guide, has helped me to gain proper insight and a way forward with my problems - and that is a gift. Fiona does this with ease, clearly cares and makes sure there are real actions taken to move forward, thank you. (Andy).
