Ellie Baker - Qualified Coach & Psychology Graduate
I'm really into people. That sounds clichéd and strangely enough, it doesn't seem to be an acceptable excuse for loving trashy reality TV, but it's true. This enthusiasm has shaped my life. It led me to three happy years at Oxford University, spent immersed in psychology lectures and tutorials. It also prompted my first career in teaching, which relies upon building and managing relationships, creating environments for personal growth and providing empathetic support. And finally, it has brought me here, and to you.
I've spent a lot of time trying to find the best fit for me within the 'helping professions'. I was disheartened that clinical work and psychotherapy weren't the right match for me and had all but given up hope of using my psychology background to work with others. I was stuck, confused and fed-up with my own inaction. I was preoccupied by ideas of what I "should" be doing and plagued by worries about what others might think of me. And that's when I first spoke to a life-coach.
Coaching is such a positive and empowering intervention. By its very nature, its a huge confidence booster. Since seeing a coach and deciding to become one myself, I've put myself out there in ways I never thought I could. Coaching is still seen as a bit woo-woo, but I've seen the results firsthand and am now a firm believer in the value it can bring to people's lives. Not to mention, it is underpinned by theories spanning numerous psychological fields of research.
I'll be providing the framework and you'll surprise and amaze yourself when you figure out your own way forward. If you're anything like me, it'll make you feel bloody fab.

'Ellie is a fantastic coach and made me feel completely comfortable discussing a huge career move. We talked through the situation and followed through my thought processes; in the end I came away with a better understanding of the options available and the motivations behind them. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to gain clarity or confidence in any aspect of their life!' Isobel, Promotions Manager
'Ellie’s sessions have made a significant impact on my life. If I’m honest, I was skeptical of ‘life coaching’ to start with but, after just one session, I felt like I had turned a corner on a key issue in my life which had been getting progressively worse. Ellie and I explored the issue over 4 sessions and each time anxiety relating to that issue was reduced. I now feel like I have the tools to deal with that anxiety of which I have Ellie to thank. Would 100% recommend.' Jacob, Product Manager
'Ellie was brilliant and patient and really could tell she wanted to try and probe me to get to the answers myself. She was never judgemental and I really and honestly felt I could tell her anything.' Tom, Compliance Officer
'The coaching session was excellent. It was my first time having a coaching session and I was unsure what to expect. I can safely say this session exceeded my expectations and helped me put into perspective and frame a decision I had been struggling with for a while. Ellie’s style was very relaxed and it also felt very purposeful and engaging. Thank you, Ellie!' Nicola, Business Development
Sessions take place over Zoom video calls, but if you'd much prefer to talk over the phone, that's no problem either.
