About me

What qualifies me to coach you?

  • I lost my father at a young age.
  • I've been divorced twice.
  • There have been many dark moments of entering the unknown throughout my life
  • Most importantly, I've positively overcome them all and now I help others as a fully qualified NLP Practitioner and Coach.

Read my story below.

So, a little about Duncan (me). It’s interesting writing about yourself and looking back at the key and defining moments of your life, and it makes you realise that we all have memories or moments that give us positivity, negativity and many other emotions that may or may not have an impact on where we are today

Many of my personal challenges and significant life changing events occurred between 19 and 42. Although my first was actually at 15 when I moved from the place I had grown up, to another area. It was a challenge and the hardest thing I had ever had to deal with at that time. Then came changing careers at the age of 20, from Chef to Sales. A big decision leaving an industry I had trained in and was familiar with, but the hours just didn’t suit. It was unpopular with my parents, but, for me I knew it was right, I had to make a change.

I was married at 25 and at the age of 29 became divorced, an event that was very hard to deal with, especially as at the same time, my father passed away in 1998 from Cancer, an illness he had been battling for a coupe of years. It was, at the age of 29, a dark time and one that with the support of family and friends, I got through.

Life moved on and my professional life in IT Sales was successful, yet unfulfilling. I had no purpose and thought back to my days of being a Chef, when at least I had an end product, something tangible that gave people pleasure, something that was fulfilling to me and others. As the years went by I opened a bar with a friend, and this was another giant leap into the unknown, both financially and personally. We had the bar for 2 ½ years and it was successful for much of the time but circumstances meant it was time to sell, however this is where I met my second wife.

We met and very quickly moved in together and very quickly had a son. He was not planned, which is hard to write, as now he is everything. Unfortunately, my wife and I divorced after 3 ½ years together. This again was very traumatic and difficult, although to this day we remain close and good friends. During this time, I continued with my football and several years ago took up Krav Maga, an Israeli Self Defence System. I also started to coach my sons football team which gives me great pleasure, so much so that I took my FA Coaching Level 1 Badge which was a really useful experience.

The one thing that kept on niggling at me though was the “purpose and fulfilment” piece. I have a good life and an amazing son, yet professionally, I felt unfulfilled. I had two options, one, to do nothing and carry on, or two, to do something different and life changing. I took the second option and trained to become an NLP Practitioner with an amazing company. I wanted to work with people and use what I have learned and experienced in life to help others.

So, this is me with a brief pit stop tour of my life, now building my own business, using my life experiences and training to help others reach their desires and goals and overcome challenges that have prevented them from moving forward.

Why me?

I know I can help you move onwards and upwards before, during and post-divorce, I will help you achieve your goals professionally with career and job challenges and I can help you move forward following the bereavement of a loved one. I will also help you in other areas of your life where you feel a positive change is needed.

These experiences coupled with my coaching skills, will make the difference to you. Working as a partnership we will get to where you want to be, together.

Difficult and emotional things do happen, good and bad, but it is your mindset that carries you forward, and it is having the desire to make that change for the better.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope that it inspires you to make the changes you want. If you would like to talk with me about how I can help you, then I welcome you to give me a call on: 07860868958 or click here to send me an email.

My name is Liam Collins.I am the founder & director of The Aspiration Hub & an NLP Master Practitioner.
Duncan took the NLP Practitioner Course with The Aspiration Hub and was trained by ANLP Trainer Denise Collins (Principle of The Hummingbird Effect Academy)

Duncan is a tremendous NLP Practitioner.
From the very start of the course he showed a high level of understanding for the methods & techniques.
Then throughout the course, he demonstrated a very high level of skill when working with practice clients.
His knowledge, his approach, his pacing/timing & understanding of the requirements of an NLP Practitioner are very impressive and I am more than happy to give this testimonial as one of his supervisors.

We are very proud to have graduated Duncan from our NLP Practitioner Course and really look forward to seeing the huge positive effect he will have on the lives of his clients.
