Duncan Alldridge ACC - Somatic Life Coach
Hello, I’m Duncan Alldridge. I’m an ICF certified Somatic Life Coach.
We are in uncertain, challenging and remarkable times. Questions around what is really important to us come into focus like never before. Are you in new or challenging questions about the future? What is the new conversation with the world that you feel called to be part of — now?
Coaching grounds you in your body We are beautifully complex beings with an array of feelings, sensations and emotions running through us constantly. How do we move towards those things we care about whilst learning to accept and navigate this fascinating inner human landscape? I see coaching as a living, transformative and therapeutic process and bring a somatic perspective to my work. This is a unique body-orientated approach acknowledging we are a ‘soma’ — in ancient Greek that is ‘a whole body’ — and thus, a holistic mix of biology, neurology and psychology. Working in this way with the body, and not only the mind, is a richly creative and exploratory process which can be deeply fulfilling and enjoyable.
Coaching focuses what is important for you During sessions we will explore what is important to you, whether that is related to your professional or home life, your creativity or spirituality, or simply just your place in the world. As well as supporting you to move towards what you care about, we’ll work on crafting out your commitments and deepening your self awareness. The process will support you to organise your ‘feeling’ self alongside your ‘thinking’ self, learn to use your body as a resource and develop the tools to help you create a more fulfilled life.
Coaching supports you in making behavioural change Being an agent of your own change has its challenges — but it can be fun if you learn to be curious, generous and kind towards yourself. Maybe you’ve longed for the confidence to connect with a wider circle of friends or colleagues, to move forward decisively with the new business idea or navigate a transition at work, or develop resilience in the face of challenging personal circumstances. A somatic approach honours that your whole body, not only your mind, has a learned, conditioned response, and that, when under pressure, this is the response that shows up in the world. Whether that looks like hiding rather than asserting yourself, moving too quickly when it may be better to take time or appeasing when it would serve to stand your ground. Whatever habitual patterns have held you back, an attitude of playful curiosity and a committed approach will help you make the changes you need to move towards what matters for you.
Coaching is a safe environment Coaching allows you to recognise and express those things you deeply care about, in a safe and non-judgemental way. It moves you towards a place of ownership from a more confident and empowered place. With empathy and compassion I’ll help you raise self awareness and become responsible for your own actions and choices. Ultimately it is you who create your future.
However you find yourself and whatever your reason is for finding a coach — whether in your personal or professional life — I’ll bring a light, soulful and pragmatic approach, and I'll support and encourage you to show up in the world on purpose, grounded and alive.

MY OTHER AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Impacting an Audience You may have a public speaking engagement or presentation to give. You want to work with your voice and body? I can help you raise your game and build inner confidence. We'll work with your intuitive energy to ground you; I'll support you to expand and move gently from your comfort zone. We'll use your body as a resource for your voice, dive into the playground of your imagination, and help connect you to your authenticity, intuition and sense of purpose.
Working with Men Maybe you specifically want to work with a male coach. You may be in a period in your life where your place in the world feels elusive or you are searching for a sense of what masculinity means to you. I can help you stand in your integrity, face your vulnerability and hold you accountable on your path. I’ve led and been involved with different projects for men and personally I have found intentional men’s work very rewarding.

What people say having worked with me...
Through Duncan’s deeply intuitive and knowledgeable coaching he guided me through this work, holding a safe container for my otherwise frenetic energy. He would gently guide me back if I strayed from the path that led to the root of my issue. Yet he allowed me to make all of the discoveries about myself, by myself. It has been life-changing work for me and Duncan’s guidance and leadership fundamental. (Michael Corsale, Actor)
Duncan is amazing. I came to him at a time when I felt lost and out of sync with myself. The techniques he has taught me allow me to connect with the flow of a bigger picture and take positive action. The somatic approach centres me in my body, allowing me focus my energies in a practical way to make palpable changes. Duncan holds a fantastic space of calm, empathy and encouragement. The work we've done together has been absolutely pivotal in opening new possibilities for me. (Kaj Meerstadt, The Little Massage Company)
I've been coming to Duncan for a year now for embodied somatic coaching sessions. My life was in flux, and I knew I needed help to move into a more positive and confident space. Through the sessions, I have learnt about how my emotional self and my physical self can work together rather than fighting each other. Duncan taught me the tools to work with my anxiety and negative self-thoughts, and channel them into positive action rather than self-detrimental reaction and fear-induced inactivity. Duncan has provided a safe space to explore who I am, and who I want to be without fear, and I can honestly say that it has changed my life, and given me the tools to become a happier, healthier, more assured person. (Biba Hunjan, Freelance Creative Art-worker)
I started working with Duncan because I wanted to raise my 'public speaking' game. In particular I was interested in ways of connecting more meaningfully with an audience. I wanted my style to 'fit' my content in a way that is both congruous and energising. It was an exciting, challenging and growthful experience for sure! Duncan's background in performance, somatics and improv is, I think, a killer combination. His style is supportive whilst at the same time challenging. He gently (almost imperceptibly) got me to work out of my comfort zone, experiment and take risks. Through the sessions with Duncan I have found new ways to really connect with myself, my subject and therefore an audience. It was great fun too! I would heartily recommend Duncan to anyone who wants to go beyond technique and explore deeper ways of engaging and presenting. (Sally Bibb, CEO | Public Speaker | Author)
I went to Duncan wanting to take charge of my life. I’d found myself in my early 30s wanting change, however a number of old patterns of behaviour have held me back. The sessions with Duncan have been a huge support, he’s a brilliantly positive and gentle man. His centring technique has given me so much more self awareness around my tendencies. This awareness means that when my old shape creeps up I can now give myself options in how I want to respond. It’s been so useful having a coach, having weekly commitments, check ins and feeling progress towards by wider goal. (Marlon Rose Tavares, Film-maker)
Duncan has a calm, thoughtful and very purposeful coaching style. He very quickly can hone in on key areas for you to focus on and uses an intuitive mix of different physical and mental tools and techniques that opened me to somatic coaching. He supported me on a journey through some recent changes in my professional life that really helped me focus on the path forward I needed.I couldn’t recommend Duncan highly enough. (Jason Noble, VP Global Customer Success)
I’m finding the journey with Duncan profoundly more than simply 'voice' coaching. I’m engaging and deepening into my sense of self and my presence. I am more fully embracing speaking from a place of my vulnerability without losing my integrity, my centre. It seems like a marriage of my authentic voice and an engaging open voice to engage with others and my audience. (Graham)
Working with Duncan really helped me to focus on what I needed to do next in my life and how to approach it. We covered a lot of ground in the sessions. Duncan put me at ease and I felt safe sharing my thoughts and life experiences.. He helped me to focus when I went off on a tangent! The practices I’ve learned have been invaluable and I now try to make daily practice. I focus on my affirmation and can now find ground when I’m feeling anxious or unsure. Thank you Duncan, I now have some really helpful life tools. (Esther Williams, Personal Trainer)
