Diane Benson (MAC)
My name is Diane, and I offer focused support for change and personal growth.
As a Personal and Professional Development Coach, I work with those in busy roles who face competing demands on their time. As your coach I offer a supportive space for you to take a step back, plan and move forward with clarity and confidence.
I provide the opportunity for you to improve skills, performance and confidence, creating a more fulfilling personal and professional life. The outcomes will be greater personal growth, increased effectiveness and reduced stress.
My values of authenticity, honesty and integrity influence my style as a coach. I offer a warm, open and encouraging style in a confidential setting. I am flexible in my approach and provide focused support for change and personal growth.
My clients tend to be women who are managing their careers, family and other commitments, however I have also helped plenty of men. I work with those who are seeking personal development and professional growth, and I have experience supporting people to:
- manage their career path
- effectively manage their workload and time
- deal with change
- take control of stressful situations
- create a healthy balance in their life
- have greater self awareness, motivation and confidence
- improve health, well-being and self-care
- build resilience
Coaching is built on a trusting and supportive relationship, so it's really important that you have the opportunity to talk through what you are looking to gain from coaching, and find the right person to support you. Therefore, I offer a no-obligation 30 minute call as the first step, for just this reason.

Wow!! What a difference an hour and half can make. Diane helped me to take apart and plan for what seemed like a fairly small task but had all the potential to go wrong. Working through the task together, Diane questioned and challenged assumptions and helped me to be clear about outcomes I wanted to achieve and the actions required to deliver them. As well as bringing clarity to the specific task, Diane pushed me to think about the wider picture and how things fitted together. A great opportunity to put a clear plan with defined actions, timescales, outcomes and contingency in place. I cannot recommend enough the opportunity that working with Diane has brought, if you've thought about coaching contact Diane.' Donna Kingett - Strategic & Contract Manager, Yorkshire Water
'I have really valued the time I spent working with Diane, who supported me to thoughtfully consider how to effectively manage my role and staff team. Diane's coaching style challenged me to think differently whilst also staying true to my values and approach. I would highly recommend Diane as a coach, particularly for those navigating the often complex world of the voluntary sector.' Hannah Bailey - Sector Support Manager, Voluntary Action Leeds
'Diane enabled me to think clearly about what I wanted to achieve and find a way of doing this, setting realistic targets and also enabling me to identify obstacles which I put in my own way. Diane is an excellent coach, and I found her approach really effective.' Nicky Gadstone - York
'I found the space that Diane creates to be extremely helpful in allowing me to make decisions about future roles. Diane sticks to the essence of coaching in that she does not give advice and is not directive, but lets you set the agenda and make the decisions, which is empowering.' Hannah Smith - Leeds
'Never having experienced coaching before I was surprised and pleased with the significant difference it made to how I approached difficult challenges within my career. Diane very patiently listened whilst skilfully encouraging focus and development of a positive way forward. She made me think and realise there is always a solution!' Janet Wardell, Head teacher
'Diane's coaching sessions have helped me to start thinking positively about my future options focusing on the 'can do' rather than the 'why not'. As a result I am now taking my first steps towards my new career without the coaching I would honesty still be just thinking about it! I found the experience of coaching with Diane to be constructive, positive and very empowering. Diane has a naturally calm, caring and professional approach. I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone looking for a coach.' Liz - York
