About me

Hi, I'm Debra. I help mainly (but not exclusively) women of all ages find a full and happy life with increased confidence, self-esteem, motivation and minimal stress.

I offer personal development coaching as well as help with dating & mid-life issues. Trained in hypnotherapy and NLP, I also help clients resolve phobias, smoking cessation, weight loss mindset and comfort eating etc.

My clients are often at a transition point or facing a significant life change. Or they are feeling 'stuck', lacking motivation, a sense of identity and direction. Often a fear or phobia can be holding them back in life or they want support to reduce anxiety and increase confidence. Does this resonate with you?

Perhaps you know you want a richer life experience but there are so many demands on your time and attention that what you want from life often languishes at the bottom of your To Do list.

When did someone last listen to your needs, your struggles, your dreams, your aspirations - I mean really listen, in a non-judgmental way?

Is there someone in your life who helps you clarify your thoughts, make major life decisions, discover your gifts, notices your strengths and helps you to the destination you truly desire in life, without personal agenda?

If not, I can help you to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be, to get forward-focused, seeing possibilities to make the changes you want to see. I'll partner with you, be your cheerleader, and I'll also challenge your thinking and keep you on track.

I can help you if you:

  • find yourself with children now grown or needing less of your time and you're unsure what to do next
  • are single but the dating world is new and alien, you keep choosing the wrong dates or you're holding on to memories of past relationship difficulties
  • have a life-limiting phobia, or a fear that's inconvenient and restrictive
  • are in a job that isn't making you leap out of bed on a Monday morning
  • are already dynamic and in control of your life but want to focus on the next stage
  • need support to face the future after divorce or relationship breakdown
  • want to stop smoking or control your comfort eating
  • have an idea for how to move your life forwards but need to move from contemplation to action
  • want to return to work outside the home but don't know where to start
  • are feeling flat and without direction, that life is passing you by
  • want a richer, more fulfilling life experience but lack clarity of vision and how to create it
  • need to increase confidence
  • feel you lack identity after committing yourself to family, or other, responsibilities
  • are part of the sandwich generation, your needs squashed between those of ageing parents and still-dependent children

Is it time for change for you?

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a professional transformational coach holding a Diploma in Performance Coaching with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), accredited by the National Council of Psychotherapists.

I've also studied psychology at degree level and completed The Breakthrough System training programme with the (Anthony) Robbins-Madanes Training Centre.

I've mentored secondary school students and I'm a Firework trained career transition coach, accredited by the International Coach Federation. I've undertaken further training in NLP and hypnotherapy with world-renowned coach, author, NLP specialist and hypnotherapist, Ali Campbell, who is my own coach and mentor.

I work alongside Select Personal Introductions as their in-house dating coach, and with Maple Dental in Sale, to help patients with needle and dentist phobias.

After being widowed I've brought up 2 now-adult children. I've done that sometimes confusing and scary dating thing in later life where all the rules seem to have changed and no-one tipped you off. I've successfully transitioned from one career to another and I've enjoyed travelling abroad alone many times, often to acquire new skills such as learning a language, photography and sailing.

With a career spanning many years in Human Resource Management I've observed at close hand a range of often challenging, surprising, but always interesting human behaviour. This followed a portfolio career encompassing self-employment in a creative field including TV presenting, interior design, tutoring and consulting in decorative paint effects.

Do I have life sewn up? Do I have all the answers? No, absolutely not!

Of course there are times when life throws me a curveball and things go a bit pear-shaped. But what I do have are the tools to help me recognise what I'm experiencing and to work my way through the challenges. I can help you too.

Further information

"Thank you SO much for all your patience and help over the past couple of months. You've really made a big difference to my wellbeing. Thanks for being awesome and keeping me awesome!"

"I have enjoyed it immensely - it was like having a new, very wise best friend to listen and chat about me. The sessions did make me realise how little time I actually spend focusing on myself and considering matters. You have helped to show me the way by breaking things down and looking at specific areas I need to focus on, and an ingenious method of neutralising certain awkward moments. In the last few years I have understood the importance of balance in my life and your work, I feel, is so much connected to that. What do they say - 'it's good to talk'. It's been invaluable!"

"I wasn't sure what to expect when I started coaching with Debra. She helped me identify some key areas to focus on and encouraged me to give further thought outside our sessions. Just by 'allowing' myself some timeout to think about these very important issues has made a huge difference as I have begun to realise they were actually holding me back."

"Debra provided just the right environment for this type of self development, she was warm and friendly and very professional throughout. I would have no hesitation in recommending her to others."
