I specialise in the relationship between emotional health, chronic illness and the mind-body connection, and how this can be a catalyst for transformation and wisdom.
Having an active interest in personal or spiritual development is a prerequisite of working with me, because my focus is to support you in making positive changes in your life. Some of the things that I help people with include processing difficult emotions like anxiety or fear, overcoming trauma, re-evaluating beliefs, establishing healthy relationship boundaries, developing life skills, reducing symptoms of illness, understanding the nature of mind, and creating a more authentic, healthier life.
I have professional and academic qualifications in philosophy, spirituality and health, so I often work with people who are interested in exploring the nature of mind, consciousness, emotions, or personal experience. Some of the people that find my approach helpful include therapists, carers, healers, healthcare workers, coaches, empaths, and spiritual seekers.
Here's why I support people with emotional health and chronic illness:
I have helped people to improve their health and well-being for over 30 years now. But it was my own personal experience of recovery from chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia that led to my interest in supporting people with emotional healing, stress-related health conditions, and how to use these experiences as a process of self-transformation.
Acute illness often has a clear pathological cause, and so it can be treated effectively through medication or surgical intervention. But chronic illness is more complex, and is influenced by emotional or psychological stress, as well as social, spiritual and cultural factors. Stress has a profound impact upon the way that your body functions, the progression of illness, and its ability for healing. But many aspects of life which create stress remain largely unacknowledged within Western medicine.
When I became ill, I became intensely aware of the discrepancy between my professional health education and the lived reality of being unwell. I also found that what I was being told about chronic illness and how to restore my health conflicted with my own experience. Following my own recovery, I have since completed 2 degrees in philosophy and health, plus qualifications in natural therapies, and I now use what I have learnt on my own journey, to help other people improve their health and well-being.
Some of the things that I help people with are releasing emotional distress or trauma, reducing symptoms of chronic illness with natural therapies, learning skills for coping more effectively with life, developing healthy relationships, increasing authenticity, and re-evaluating personal beliefs.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have over 30 years experience of providing healthcare, and have worked in a wide range of different environments including acute hospital wards, high dependency units, and provision of health promotion. I began to train in holistic health approaches over a decade ago, and since then I have used my combined knowledge of traditional and holistic approaches to well-being to help people improve their own experience.
Some of the areas I have helped people with include reduction of pain, fatigue, emotional and physical symptoms. However, I believe it's important to identify and eliminate underlying causes of stress, not just mask symptoms, so helping people to develop a deep level of self-awareness is a high priority for me.
I love learning and it is an integral part of my life. I believe that knowledge is empowering, and that personal development is an essential part of enhancing your experience and health. On my own journey I have gained several qualifications, the main ones are:
