About me

Are you a Mum who struggles with your confidence, anxiety or a negative mindset?

Being a Mum is a fantastic gift…but lets be honest it can be really challenging...at times extremely stressful and for many women can lead to a loss of identity and confidence and increased anxiety.  And be a time when they lose sight of their own personal and professional goals and aspirations and belief in themselves.

I offer non-judgemental, honest, impartial, confidential, coaching where you can rediscover you again. It’s an opportunity for you to be truly heard, listened to and supported which I find is a relief for clients when often they feel this is lacking in their day to day lives.

So what do I coach my clients on?

The following isn't an exhaustive list, but does give you an general overview of areas I work with clients on.

However if there is an additional area you would like to explore through coaching please do get in touch to discuss how I can help.

Confidence and Self Esteem Building

Have you found that since having your children you feel less confident, or perhaps you have always struggled with your confidence. Within our coaching sessions we can explore how you can improve your confidence and self esteem so that you can live the life you want free from restraint.

Resilience, Anxiety and Stress

Do you feel like you are slowly burning out, encouraging your children to be resilient, but not applying the same care to yourself?

Would you like to explore ways that would help you to feel more able to cope with the stresses and strains of parenthood and adult life in general?

Have you found that you are becoming more anxious as you get older and would like to find coping strategies that work for you.

Self Limiting Beliefs

We all have that voice in our heads that gives us a constant commentary about ourselves, but do you find that yours is particularly negative.  Telling you that you can't or shouldn't do things that deep down you would like to.  Or maybe being so critical about your appearance or abilities at work/home that it effects your day to day life. It doesn't have to be like this and coaching can help.

Imposter Syndrome

Do you often feel that you are "winging it" and that any moment the people around you personally or professionally are going to realise that you are in no way as capable as you portray yourself to be. If you have feelings involving self-doubt, uncertainty about your talents and abilities, and a sense of unworthiness that doesn’t align with what others think about you. You may well being experiencing Imposter Syndrome.

Life Purpose

Perhaps you are unsure what to do with your life now your children have started school or are older and need you less. Or you have children and are finding that whilst you love your children your life is not as purposeful as you envisaged it would be.

Decision Making

Are you a crossroads with an issue personally or professionally and are unsure which is the best direction to follow and would like to explore it and gather your thoughts.

Work/Life Balance

Perhaps you are finding that your work/life balance is not currently right leading you to feel guilty all the time that you aren't giving either the amount of time you feel they need but are unsure how to resolve it?

Career Coaching

Have you found yourself in a job post children that you don't enjoy but are unsure what else you could or would like to do.

Perhaps you are anxious about change as your current role is very family friendly but you feel like you are going slowly insane doing it?

Or maybe you would like to progress career wise but are lacking confidence in taking that next step.

Are you thinking about returning to work and feel apprehensive or unsure about it and would like to discuss your feelings and options to help you reach the decision that is right for you.

Finding Fulfilment

Let me let you into a secret, you are not alone if you are finding that having children is not the all encompassing, fulfilling experience you thought it would be.

It's ok to want to explore what else you could add to your life to feel more personally or professionally fulfilled. I can offer a supportive space where you can let out all those thoughts and feelings you were too scared to voice in case you were judged.

Maybe you are unhappy with a relationship in your life and want to explore your thoughts and options for the future in an impartial space without judgement or opinion.

So how does coaching help?

Coaching in its essence is forward focusing, unlike counselling which seeks to resolve past issues and trauma. Coaching looks at the person you are now and who you would like to be in the future.

You and I work together as a team to help you get clear on your goals and aspirations and empower you to reach them.

Ultimately what I want is to help you to rediscover you!

Coaching is a very personal experience and it’s important that you and I are comfortable and feel that we can work well together.

Therefore, I offer a free no obligation 30 minute consultation to all new clients so get in touch to arrange a chat either face to face, virtually or via telephone whichever is your preference. To discuss what you would like to gain from coaching and how I can help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BA Hons degree in Sociology and am a qualified Life Coach, certified by the University of Cambridge and a member of the Association for Coaching.

I also have over 15 years professional experience in coaching and mentoring roles.

These roles have been in not for profit, private and public sectors and have included working with people to help them overcome their barriers work, confidence and self esteem building, career guidance, debt advice and guidance and supporting clients to lose weight.

I am also a Mum of two who recognises and has personally experienced the unique challenges that today’s Mum’s face.

Be that balancing work and family life, feeling a loss of identity and purpose after becoming a parent, grieving the life you had before you had children, perhaps not feeling as fulfilled as you expected to, the pressures of caring for elderly relatives alongside your children or the impact that the death of a parent can have on you even as an adult.

I understand the anxiety and guilt that can accompany all of these feelings and work with women to not only help them build their resilience and ability to cope with the stresses of everyday life.

But to also explore what they want from life and reach decisions about how they would like their lives to be. Empowering them to make meaningful long lasting changes in order that they can be happier, more contented and more fulfilled.

Further information

I draw upon coach-active and positive psychology  approaches in my coaching, this essentially means I believe that you are your own best expert and I am not there to instruct or advise.

But I will work with you to help you develop your understanding of yourself, what your wants and needs are and how you are going to fulfil them.

Between sessions I may ask you to complete exercises to help you reflect on our sessions and grow in awareness of yourself.

I very much live my core values of integrity, empathy and honesty and these are reflected in my client testimonials:

“Caroline has asked every question and been given every answer. She has explored my replies with lots of respect, never making me feel uncomfortable but always giving me something to think about. Her approach to coaching and dealing with me is amazing and really helped me to dig deep into being me. I can safely say I am over the thunder in the cloud and I’m out the other side. I am back to the real me!”

"I wanted to feel in control of my time to create a positive work life balance which I felt overwhelmed with. I also had a lot of guilt associated with giving my time away to others, which I hadn’t realised at the time, but this was often the reason I felt like things were out of my control.

I have managed to maintain a positive work life balance and have felt more in control of my life. My relationships with my family and friends are a lot stronger, and I feel my communication is much clearer and effective with those closest to me. I’m not expecting people to understand how I’m feeling and becoming annoyed at people for not realising this.

I feel a lot more engaged and present in the moment rather than overwhelmed and stressed thinking about the long list of things I need to be doing.”

“I valued Caroline’s honesty and integrity and the feeling I wasn’t being judged for anything I said. It was clear that Caroline’s main aim was to support myself through decision making and help me move forward to achieve what I wanted”.
