I am an NLP Coach and life coach, supervisor (and UKCP registered counsellor) supporting individuals, couples and families with the changes they wish to make. I offer both short and long term coaching for adults, couples and young people in Bridlington and Pocklington. I also offer short and long term counselling for adults, couples, children, young people and families.
I support individuals in unlocking a their potential to maximise their own performance by helping them to learn rather than to teach. The following definition best describes my style of coaching; as "a collaborative, solution focused, result-orientated and systematic process in which the coach facilitates the enhancement of work performance, life experience, self-directed learning and personal growth of the coachee” (Grant 1999, basic definition also referred to by the Association for Coaching, 2005).
Having had the opportunities to experience working with individuals, couples and families from many different backgrounds including clients where English is not the first language if necessary clients can be seen with a dialogue translator.
Over the last 15 years, I have been able to build up extensive experience of working in the public sector, NHS, not-for-profit and voluntary sector, supporting people with a variety of vulnerabilities including mental health, addictions, trauma, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, abuse, and adjustment issues.
I know how challenging it can be to come and see someone so why not come and meet with me for an initial session to see if we could work together.

Coaching assists a client to bridge the gap between where they are now, to where they would like to be far more effectively than if they worked alone.
A coach achieves this by:
- Helping to raise the awareness of a client with powerful questioning techniques so they can get clear on what they truly desire and who they are at their core
- Assisting them to create practical, step-by-step action plans to reach their goals
- Providing on-going support through any changes or obstacles a client may encounter
- Providing a client with tools, techniques and strategies to create lasting change and success
The most vital role of a Life Coach is to help their clients to unlock their potential, maximise their performance and get the results they are hoping for. If you gain personal and professional satisfaction from helping others reach their goals then coaching could be for you.
A good coach is able to assist a client to obtain their desired goal(s). A Coach achieves this with the use of powerful tools and techniques to help their client uncover their own answers, gain clarity on what they want and what could be holding them back. This level of awareness and support encourages their clients to break through any obstacles and go on to achieve their ambitions.
Although some skills may be similar, a coach is not a counsellor, a therapist, a mentor or a consultant. The main difference of a coach is that a life coach focuses on future possibilities rather than past mistakes; this is achieved with tried and tested techniques that qualify them to assist a client in exploring their goals and ambitions.
