Andrew Lacey - Professional and Personal Coach
Hi, I'm Andrew, a Professional and Personal Coach. I've always had a passion for seeing people heal, develop and flourish. Having benefited greatly myself from therapy, in my early 30s I decided to train as a counsellor, and later to train as a coach. With many years counselling experience, I am well placed to help you through any emotional issues that may arise as part of your coaching.
Coaching is all about helping you achieve the results you want in your life. The focus is on getting really clear what it is you want and then identifying the steps you need to take to realise your full potential. This could be about any aspect of life … landing your dream job; finding the work-life balance that suits you; improving the quality of your relationships, or daring to have a go at something you’ve always longed to do but told yourself you couldn’t!
As your coach, my role is not to give you answers, but to ask the right questions so that you find your own answers. I work flexibly - some people prefer to go out walking on the seafront rather than sit in a room, and that’s fine by me! Always with your best interests at heart, while supportive and encouraging I can also be challenging! My experience in helping clients includes:
- threat of redundancy or actual redundancy
- difficult workplace relationships
- moving from full-time to part time
- approaching retirement
- aligning business with personal values
- getting started in business
- business planning and development
- managing staff
- improving relationships
- discovering your passion
- work-life balance
- coaching through significant life changes
Coaching for confidence
- working with singers and other performers on dealing with nerves
- building confidence
- developing stage presence
- public speaking
- daring to have a go at whatever it is you told yourself you couldn't/wouldn't/shouldn't do
I welcome a call or email to chat about what you're looking for - usually this lasts about 15 minutes and is free of charge. Then we can arrange an initial session where we'll clarify exactly what you're wanting to get out of your coaching. If you're happy to continue we'll come up with a plan about number of sessions, how often to meet, and where. So, if you would like to find out more about me or how I can help you, please get in touch!
Training, qualifications & experience
- ILM (Institute for Leadership Management) Level 5 in Coaching and Mentoring
- I abide by the EMCC (European Mentoring & Coaching Council) code of ethics.
Areas of coaching I deal with
Coaching Session 1 hour £50 - Coaching is usually focused on one or two specific issues; action-oriented (now and the future, rather than looking back into the past); and short-term, typically four to six sessions over a few weeks or months (but there is no hard-and-fast rule, it depends on what works for you).
Special Offer £175 - 4 hour package when booked and paid upfront, a saving of £25 compared to booking 4 individual hourly sessions! Choose the mix of face-to-face, online or telephone sessions or email contact and the timescale that suits you! For example, you might start with a face-to-face coaching session (at my office, in a coffee shop or walking on the seafront), then regular short phone coaching sessions over a number of weeks, finishing with a wrap-up face-to-face session.
I've had considerable experience in other fields of work such as PR and corporate communications, learning & development. While working as communications manager for a local authority, I was fortunate to be invited to join a pool of in-house workplace coaches, where I gained a lot of experience coaching people through transitions at work. When I lived in Brighton, I was programme director for the Brighton & Hove branch of international leadership development charity Common Purpose.
I practice meditation and mindfulness and am a trustee of Gaia House, a retreat centre near Newton Abbot offering silent meditation retreats in the Buddhist tradition.
