Transition in times of change - letting go and holding on!
Change and transition in work and life can be challenging. When we to turn up our level of support and hone our skills for change we can face it with more confidence, motivation and commitment. We also think and act more congruently with clearer purpose. We look after our mental and physical health and our relationships. We make sure our relationships are good ones, especially the relationship with ourselves.
So primarily I work with others to build confidence, skills for change, tackle imposter syndrome, grow in authentic leadership, improve resilience and make a difference.

How I work
What’s Alix’s style of coaching and mentoring?
I build rapport and trust with you using the traditional coaching skills of listening, asking powerful questions, adopting a non-judgmental stance and exploring the root causes of behaviour from an intellectual and emotional perspective.
I draw on solutions focus, positive psychology, gestalt, somatic and compassion focus approaches for working with personal change and transition in individuals and teams and use business best practice and experience drawn from commercial experience when appropriate.
For career transitions I draw on what 'Color is Your Parachute?' and 'Firework' career models and am an accredited facilitator and coach for both those methods.
I also understand and am experienced coaching in the context of mental health, wellbeing and resilience. I am a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and have trained and run workshops for groups in resilience and wellbeing, managing work related stress, assertiveness and building self esteem.
What sort of areas do I help clients with?
Those with challenges in their lives and careers.
Entrepreneurs wanting to lead more effectively.
People wanting to build their resilience and self esteem.
Individuals and teams dealing with change.
People who want to make some space in their life or work to think clearly, make decisions and progress changes.
Individuals and teams wanting to raise their profile and progress their careers.
We were a growing family business run by myself and my two brothers. We were at a bit of a crisis point with health issues and that late 40's feeling of what's life all about. Alix really helped us to look at our work and life balance, and explore opportunities outside the business. Alix is a great listener, really enabling us to hear and notice insights ourselves. Since our sessions we have taken up interests outside of work, and the company has doubled in turnover. This hasn't increased the stress, as the coaching helped us to look at the big picture and seek help through spreading the burden and risk. We have now completed an investment deal which has allowed the company to grow further with opportunities for our people, and as a family have been able to de-risk and de-stress. Alix has helped in us achieving this. JH
Alix was great to work with. She helped me with a total career change and I now have a job I love. She helped both with the technical details such as getting the CV right, but most importantly with helping me focus on the career I wanted and making the most of my skills and experience. She helped me to rediscover the confidence I needed to 'go for it'. She also worked with my daughter who was returning to work with focussed applications. She applied to a company who hadn't yet advertised a post, and she has completely designed her own role and was very successful. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone who needs help with a career move. LH
Alix has coached me with regard to both my business and personal development over a number of years and I have benefited greatly from her skilful and creative approach to each situation. By the end of a session, I am clear and positive about the actions I will take. I wholeheartedly recommend her services. JD
I have been participating in coaching sessions with Alix for the past few months since taking on a senior leadership role. I have already seen results in the way I approach my team. We are currently exploring my working relationship upwards. I have developed excellent techniques on how to approach the different situations that I encounter in the workplace with team, peers and board. I have also been able to apply these learned behaviours in my personal life and in dealing with external company suppliers. I have already been able to see improvement with mutual respect becoming a key attribute of how we communicate. LJ
Alix helps me to think more clearly about the way forward in my work setting. I have set up various social enterprises, and I am chair of governors at a secondary school. Alix is a great listener, and uses coaching techniques in a way which feels like an interesting and comfortable conversation. She always helps me come to a decision about my next steps. Her previous work background in HR and management also brings a depth of understanding to issues, when I am considering how my actions will impact on other people. I would not hesitate to recommend her services. HC
Alix was my management coach when I worked as Marketing Manager in Telecoms - she was a real help and I found her both highly creative and a real source of inspiration with regards to problem solving. I would not hesitate recommending her to anyone who is looking for coach. AC
Alix is extremely personable and has a positive, fun and professional approach. Alix is a great coach and I would highly recommend her to anyone who would like to take a step back to think about career goals and personal development. CS

A process of change! Making a commitment to coaching?
I work with people making and dealing with significant change and transition in their lives and that doesn't happen overnight, personal change takes time and commitment. It's not always easy but it is always easier with support, encouragement and focus. Coaching works, and at it's best it is a relationship over time. So if you are committing to making or dealing with change it makes sense to commit to coaching over a number of sessions. I offer options covering multiple sessions. Book an initial chat with me.
