Having a brilliant idea is the best part. You’re excited. You’re eager to get to work on it. Your brain is naturally throwing up more and more ideas to make your brilliant idea really happen.
You turn to a crisp fresh page, a new document and start making notes on what you want to do, what you will do, to make it happen.
You hit a snag. You get stuck. It’s just too hard. You’re just not excited like you used to be.
You had another brilliant idea you’re now really excited about so you should be working on that, obviously.
Do you ever see any of these brilliant ideas through to the end?
How can you keep your motivation, your excitement, your enthusiasm going for your work?
What’s important about this idea? Why is it important for you to share it with others? What will you do to keep those reasons, that motivation, forefront in your mind so you will want to keep going?
Imagine the sense of accomplishment when you finish. You did it! You did that! Imagine the acknowledgment and recognition from others. And then there’s the best case scenario - there could be fame, there could be fortune!
It happens - so why shouldn’t it happen to you? It’s much more likely to come about because you persevered.
Writing is easy. Rewriting is hard. If you want it to be as good as it possibly can be, you have to keep going. You need to tell this story. Regardless of what may happen next, how will you reward yourself for all your hard work? For doing something you never thought you would or could do?
How do you feel about yourself now?
