My 3 top tips for positive change

Letting go of ego

Describing ego "the cold dark sea in whose bottomless depths monsters swam". No matter how much you put in it, attempt to fill those depths it will never be enough… It will never be full, completed or satisfied. In fact, the more you input the more you are ‘filling up empty’ - why set yourself up for this chase of disenchantment and a return to emptiness? A feeling of ‘not enough’? However, be mindful – there is a difference between ‘letting go’ of the ego and ‘getting rid’ of the ego.

When we let go, it’s a gentle movement free of struggle and full of compassion, but when you actively try to get rid is ego there is an energy of fear, resistance and ultimately struggle.

The inconsistency of life is you cannot be free of anything by fighting it - awareness of ego is the key – if you find yourself in a place of fear, lack of trust, defensiveness, fear of failure, lack of forgiveness, judgement, resistance, anxiety, disenchantments, unhealthy attachment, comparison, disease, emptiness, addiction, lack of connection/flow - the ego is at work trying to micromanage and control the expansiveness and glory of your absolute being.

For you to ‘let go’ of your ego you need a sacred, reflective and intimate time with your innate self, this space is all about you finding your true self and vanishing from the deceptive projections of the ego state. Practice mindful breathing and meditation to tame the ego, feel into your true self - the gloriously authentic and unique spirit and soul of your being, in this space there is no right, wrong, good or bad just a state of being- and that’s OK.

Living your truth

Living in truth begins with reflection – ask yourself, are you true to who you are on the inside? Or are you deceiving yourself into living your life in a way that does not serve you, does not fit in with your true self?

If we are honest in all we do and say, it means we are genuine, real and true whereas dishonesty represents all that is fictitious and living your life in ‘dark corners’ and in the shadows of your true self - a playground for the ego.

This level of introspection is not easy but practicing awareness and living your truth brings you closer to fulfilment, contentment, passion, ecstasy and freedom - do not trade your truth to please others, to fit in, seeking perfection and the right of everything – become the truth of you, all else will fall into place, this requires trust, courage, boldness, self- respect, mindfulness and self-love.

If you want to grow spiritually, it’s not simply about being honest with people, more importantly it’s about being honest with yourself, acknowledging unpleasant truths about oneself will free you from limiting yourself in thought, feeling and action - be you in this one short life, do not play out the script of years of conditioning - stand in the spotlight with your script, your story - your truth.

Stepping into your authentic self

Authenticity is the freedom from the illusion of fear and alignment to the reality of love.

Nothing is more liberating as being your true self as fully as you know how, being authentic is a daily practice of embracing your truth and being fearless enough to share it with the world, this freedom will bring a sense of peace and confidence and will subconsciously give permission to all around you to feel into you – no masks, no false projections, no shadows, no ‘filling up empty’ and no fear.

If you feel disconnected from your authentic self, reflect and identify which traits you need to elevate in your life and create an intention to become authentic. Do the necessary work to reconnect your truth and your authenticity will radiate from you, do not repress feelings let the emotions arise and become aware of them with no judgement

When we stifle our authentic selves our outer expression is not matching our inner experience we suppress creativity, self-awareness, joy, expansion, ecstasy and a deeper connectedness to all things and peoples.

Authenticity is a practice, a conscious choice of how we want to live, authenticity is a collection of daily choices, the choice to show up and be real, the choice to be honest and live your truth and a choice to let our true selves be seen.
