5 steps to discovering your life's purpose in under 24 hours
4th September, 2013
Do you ever wonder what your purpose is in this life? Do you ever feel like you want to change career but have no idea what you would like to do?
You love this, used to love that, are not sure, enjoy this and 'kinda' enjoy that - decoding your interests can be challenging! Do you have several interests - or maybe none at all?
Ok - why not take a day this weekend to do a 'purpose for you' boot camp day?
How can we truly excel at our job or in our career if we don't have passion and don't enjoy it? Sure, we can make it work and we can often make good money, but how would it feel to make good money and enjoy and love with a passion every moment of our day living our purpose?
It may not even take a full day...
Firstly, I want you to grab some paper and answer the questions below. Don't worry if you get stuck on this part - these questions are there to heighten your awareness to discovering your purpose.
1. What do you love to do?
Many high achievers have become high achievers as they love what they do. Richard Branson loves risks and flying. Victoria Beckham loves fashion. Madonna loves dancing and singing. Anthony Robbins loves to motivate. JK Rowling loves to write. Oprah loves to talk. Write as many things as you want...
2. What would you happily do for free?
Do you love taking care of kids, participating in sports, cooking for others, painting, writing, playing the piano, looking after the elderly, travelling?
3. Do you love reading? If so, what?
If you buy books, which are the books you feel most drawn to? If friends/family offer to gift you books for Christmas, what would you ask for?
4. What do you love discussing with friends when socialising?
It's probably different depending on who you are with, but what sparks your interest and makes you feel you want to join in and continue discussing? Dating, politics, commerce, fashion, make-up, history, movies, property, animals, sports, tv, technology, interior design?
5. What do you find easy - what comes naturally to you?
Dealing with figures, drawing, painting, playing the piano, creating recipes, teaching, writing, sports, designing, networking, talking, dancing?
Take some time to review your answers and ponder on them. Then write a list of 25 ways you could make money from these answers, either as a job or a business opportunity or career.
You will be amazed at how many ideas you can come up with. If you feel stuck now, then put it to one side, carry the answers in a journal and add to it as and when or make a list in your phone and add ideas as and when you feel inspired.
WHY discover your life's purpose? Because it's your time to shine...
