Summer retreat days
Full and half day retreats in the Cotswolds.
Summer retreat days | Dr Liz Sparkes
My meditation journey began from my desire to ease my own, and others' physical and psychological discomfort. Meditation and insight practice has allowed me to transform many traumatic life events.
Holycombe is a beautiful residential holistic retreat centre, set in a verdant wooded valley on the edge of the Cotswold village of Whichford. A natural stream rises from a holy well in the nearby wood, passes through the grounds and down a waterfall. The sound of running water adds to the sense of peace and tranquillity. A coppice provides shady outdoor space; there's a campfire area and a large stone circle.
Heart-based meditation allows a gentle connection to the heart, lowering stress and promoting ease within the body. Meditation in nature encourages a deeper connection to the natural world, and natural healing.
An hour of gentle yoga followed by a sound bath. A sound bath is where we can bathe in relaxing, healing sounds. Often people lie down with a blanket, but seated is also absolutely fine. The sound bath will last around 30 minutes. We use soulful instruments like crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls and the shamanic drum. These instruments help people to quieten down their minds, and for deeper states of awareness. Sound baths can be rejuvenating for the mind, body and spirit.
Reiki healing available.
