These workshops are for mums, dads and carers who want to improve relationships at home. With practical and pragmatic workshops, I will help you take the fight out of the family so you can bring respectful and fulfilling relationships back in. I know what it’s like to get my parenting 'wrong' and watch important relationships suffer. So, it's time to stop trying to be the ‘perfect parent’ and start being an authentic leader.

I can help you re-frame your thinking and instantly ease the pressure. I'll show you how to work with your children, rather than against them. Disciplining and influencing them IN a relationship is much, much easier – and it gets better results.

My approach to parenting is authoritative (not authoritarian), person-centred and relational. Check out my TEDx talk to see if my parenting approach aligns with yours.

These workshops will be recorded and you can use the ticket function to pre-purchase the recording before the event. This will be useful for colleagues who are not able to attend the event live and also for those who attend the event live and want to watch it again.

Part 1: Be you (Friday 23rd September 2022)

Explore power and your use of power in the parent/child relationship; find your ‘style’ of parenting; bust some parenting myths; recognise the difference between needs and values (yours and your family), and increase your emotional self-awareness and self-confidence.

Part 2: Healthy mindset (Friday 14th October 2022)

Understand how your brain works and why an integrated brain is important for you and your child; move from being reactive to proactive; learn how to regulate so you can think clearly (and help your child to regulate e.g. tantrums/meltdowns); cultivate resilient parenting and a growth mindset.

Part 3: Listen well (Friday 4th November 2022)

Understand person-centred relationship theory so that you can apply it in your family; recognise and learn how to offer the ‘as if’ quality of empathy; understand what might block your empathy and acceptance of your child, so you can avoid the pitfalls of dysfunctional relating, and understand how to use active listening skills and mediation skills so that your children can move from emotional distress to problem-solving.

Part 4: Be heard (Friday 18th November 2022)

Use 'clean language' to have less arguments and more communication; understand an appropriate use of power and learn how to influence your child so that they become considerate of themselves and others; develop a discipline philosophy so that you can address unacceptable behaviour; learn how to give healthy praise; and avoid power struggles so that your family has boundaries everyone respects.

Part 5: Conflict resolution (Friday 2nd December 2022)

When your ‘clean’ messages aren’t heard it may be because there is a conflict between the people in your family. Resolve these conflicts by using a creative, collaborative and cooperative conflict resolution method where everyone participates (takes responsibility for their part of the resolution) and where everyone wins.

Part 6: Influence good choices (Friday 16th December 2022)

Move from being concerned to influencing your child’s values; live the values you want to see in your child; allow your child to be different to you (so you can change with your child); and understand what to do when you and your child have values clashes.

The workshops will be hosted on the Zoom meeting platform where we will use our cameras and microphones to interact with each other as a group.
