This mindfulness course is a six week programme suitable for anyone experiencing stress at work and would like to cope better with the challenges work brings. The skills learnt are also suitable for anyone who would like to enhance their general wellbeing and manage daily stresses. (Please note there is no session on February 18th due to half term)

The course runs for six weeks one hour per week and includes all course materials, a book, CD/MP3s, extra reading materials covering psychological principles and the research behind mindfulness. Also included is a pre and post course evaluation and a wellbeing questionnaire to ensure mindfulness training is the right thing for you.

Mindfulness is another word for attention. When you cultivate awareness you create a direct, intuitive knowing of what you are doing while you are doing it. And when you do that, it frees your mind from burden.

You live a happier life.

Why do this course?

What you will learn on the course:

Week one: Coming off autopilot

  • Focussing the mind.
  • Doing vs being mode to improve overall concentration.

Week two: Self-awareness

  • Mind/body connection between thinking, moods, and behaviour. 
  • The science & brain changes.

Week three: Striving and resilience

  • Handling challenging situations and change which enhances resilience to prevent high stress levels or even burnout.

Week four: Gaining Perspective

  • Relating differently to thoughts.
  • Thoughts are not necessarily facts, being flexible and resilient when faced with challenges increasing emotional intelligence.

Week five: Working with challenging situations

  • Turning towards the difficult.
  • Acknowledge emotional reactions and managing habitual response patterns.

Week six: Developing Intention

  • Developing positive intention to practice and improve life experiences.
