This event is a brand new concept, integrating mindfulness and group coaching together by two qualified trainers Gareth Burr and Carole Douillot.

The workshop will take place in Gareth's unique library shed with a warm wood burner.

Here is a brief outline of the first pilot session:

  • 6 persons max
  • Session will start and finish with meditation practice (Gareth) after we get to know each other by presenting ourselves informally to the group.

The core of the session will be one hour. For the first session Carole will run action learning sets. Each person takes turn in the hot seat telling us what they would like to talk about, then we all ask questions to help us understand the issue and then if time and the person in the hot seat wishes to, we offer advice/suggestions. Finally the person in the hot seat will share with us their take aways and reflections and maybe an action plan.

General rules

What happens in the space stays in the space (fully confidential and non judgmental). No interruption, one person speaks at a time. Not everyone has to be in the hot seat

My role in the space is to facilitate the exchanges and guide the conversation if needed.

Benefits of the work together

  • Increased active listening skills
  • Shared emotions
  • Increased awareness around a particular issue
  • Learning from each other
  • Learning to ask open questions rather than closed questions (yes or no)
  • Respect of each others needs, feelings and emotions.
