Introduction to mindfulness and meditation
During this restful day retreat, we unpack the essentials of building and developing a sustainable meditation and mindfulness practice. This retreat is ideal for beginners but also extremely beneficial for those with an existing practice, one of the greatest secrets of our practice is that it is extremely worthwhile revisiting the basics on an ongoing basis with a "beginners mind".
What to expect
Some of the areas we cover during the day...
- why we sit
- unpacking mindfulness
- working "with" thoughts
- simplicity of practice
- developing a solid and sustainable daily meditation practice
- powerful pauses and exploring mindful living
During the day, there will be lots of time to rest and relax or maybe take a little stroll in the surrounding countryside. Located in a stunning location, St Margarets Village Hall, Alderwasley, is nestled on the side of a hill overlooking the Derwent Valley and Crich Stand. Thought to be the oldest village hall in England, this ancient monument and Grade II listed building provides a spacious, quiet and restful base for our Spring Day retreat.
Drinks and light refreshments are provided during the day.
Attendance to this retreat also gives access to our online library of guided meditations, access to our free weekly online meditation group and access to a supportive community group on our website where you can keep in touch with fellow practitioners and friends, sharing your journey into mindfulness.
There will be four day-retreats this year, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, each flowing through the seasons, offering a pathway into going deeper into the practice of meditation and mindfulness.
