Annual Brook Sexual Health Conference and Awards – Young people, sex and consent
Each year, sexual health charity Brook holds its annual awards dinner in celebration of the positive work going on all over the UK to improve the lives of young people.
This years the event will be hosted by Marc Elliot and Johnny Partridge who play Syed and Christian from EastEnders and will explore many of the issues which young people in the UK are facing today.
The conference is set to explore the latest government policy developments to reduce teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, sexual violence and sexual consent as well as setting out how understanding consent is essential to young people making informed choices.
Brook commonly see young women and men unsure about whether they wanted to have sex, have had sex, or consented to having sex for various reasons. The charity hopes that by helping young people to make informed choices about their sexual health, rates of sexual violence, teenage pregnancy, STI rates, sexual abuse and rape will all be reduced.
