An article over at the Nursing Times highlights how a life coaching tool the 'Wheel of Life' can be used to create a balanced life.
In a profession that centres around caring for other people, many nurses find it difficult to allocate enough time to themselves, and as part of a series of articles the author, a nurse and Results Coach, is hoping to change this.
The wheel is divided into eight segments - health, home, work, money, family, friends and social life, learning and development and fun and excitement - and participants are encouraged to give themselves a score out of ten for each section. This highlights areas that need attention, and ones that are working well, allowing goal-setting and focusing on improving the scores.
