America's First Lady pushes for child nutrition bill to be passed

Michelle Obama is calling on the congress to pass legislation to improve standards of nutrition in American schools.

The suggested bill would allocate $4.5 billion over the course of a decade to support school cafeterias and would also include an overhaul of the standard of food allowed to be sold in schools including that of vending machines.

"We owe it to the children who aren't reaching their potential because they're not getting the nutrition they need during the day," Obama recently wrote in the Washington Post She also expressed concern for the health and vitality of Americas next generation who are currently suffering from an obesity epidemic.

Obesity is currently one of Americas biggest health challenges as almost two thirds of American adults and 15 percent of children are overweight or obese, both of which increase the risk of developing heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

If you are overweight and are finding it difficult to find the motivation to change your lifestyle then you may find health coaching extremely valuable. Though most coaches are not doctors they will be able to help you clarify what is currently stopping you from achieving your goals.

A health coach will also be able to devise a strategy which lays out how you are going to achieve the changes you wish to bring about. To find a coach specialising in this area you can use the search tool located on the homepage of this site.
