Profile
Want to change your life, become happier and more fulfilled at home and at work? I provide support, encouragement, constructive challenge and new perspectives. This will help you understand yourself more clearly, evaluate your choices and create a better life.
My approach to coaching is based on existential philosophy which is concerned with how to live well, how to make the most of your possibilities and how to approach life's challenges. It is a mix of practical, strategic and reflective work which can range from thinking about your life, what really matters to you and where you are heading, to working on how to set up a business and present yourself at interviews or sales calls.
Psychometric assessments such as Myers Briggs (MBTI) and FIRO-B are available to support the coaching work. The results of these tests can fast forward insights about yourself, your relationships and how you create your world. This helps you see where and how you can act to change things and expedites the work towards your goals.
I have been a work and life coach since 2000 following an earlier career in the business world where I worked in people management, programming, systems analysis and management consultancy. I was also non-executive chairman of a city IT company.
As a professional in both business and psychology I can provide a comprehensive service encompassing philosophic counselling, life and work coaching which approaches you as a whole person.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I have UKCP professional registration and a Master’s Degree (MA) in Existential Philosophy and Counselling. I am also an accredited mediator and family consultant. I hold earlier qualifications in management studies and computer science.
My clients are mostly professional people facing dilemmas such as ‘mid life’ uncertainty, stress, conflict, redundancy, returning to work, loss of confidence, meaninglessness, divorce, bereavement, work issues, business start up, career change and transitions of all kinds.
Being professionally qualified and registered means that I subscribe to a code of ethics which includes client confidentiality and a duty of care to act always in the interests of your well being. It also means I keep up to date through various CPD (continuing professional development activities).
Whatever your aspiration structured and purposeful dialogue with a qualified professional can help you.
