Charles Bentley and his associates are a team of highly experienced professionals who have reached the master level of accreditation in the uniquely comprehensive Unitive approach. Unitive coaching is outstanding in that it uses skills and insights from a rich variety of sources to develop personal charisma and enhanced levels of awareness. It works with all four aspects of human being - thinking, feeling, the perceptive process and intuition - and brings them together to form an authentic individual life experience of being totally in touch with the real world.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

Charles Bentley's Unitive approach to personal and professional life coaching has evolved as a result of many years experience in the field of human potential. After graduating as a pharmaceutical chemist at the University of London and qualifying as a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, his subsequent research into the mind-changing effects of psychotropic drugs convinced him of the need for a radically different, self-empowering approach by which individuals could learn how to take personal responsibility for change in their lives, rather than be influenced by medication, indoctrination, or other means. He went on to gain an MA and then a PhD in phenomenology and gestalt psychology, working with Dr Jay Stattman, the director of the Institute of Unitive Psychology at Utrecht, the Netherlands. In 1971 he became an associate staff member of the Institute, setting up human potential courses, seminars and training facilities all over Europe.

Over the last thirty years he has worked in the UK, Europe and the USA as a professional agent of change with many international companies and a wide range of institutions. He has a coaching clientele that includes media personalities, entrepreneurs and many professionals in the business and corporate world, media and the arts.

The Unitive coaching experience covers every aspect of the whole person – rational, emotional, perceptive and intuitive. It's a journey of self-discovery, rather than a process of goal setting and achievement. Growing organically over a period of years from its roots in Jungian, Gestalt and humanistic psychology and existential philosophy and incorporating transpersonal and Zazen-based insights, it is now established as a comprehensive and tutorial framework within which an enduring and valid personal and professional authenticity can be built.
