PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

“Martin's relaxed, gentle approach, combined with a wide-ranging knowledge of models and systems, really helped me to connect with the models, with Martin and finally, myself - I now feel like I've got a lot of tools to help me on my journey and self-development”

Personal Development client, male in his 30s

Personal development covers any area of your life that you feel you would like to develop or improve. In truth, our whole life is about personal development but from time to time, we encounter an issue that unsettles us deeply or realise that we are not living out our purpose.

When we want to learn a new language, a tutor helps the learning process. It is the same when we want to address personal difficulties or work on any of the mental, emotional, social, moral, financial, sexual-relational, physical or spiritual areas of our lives. We are more adept in some aspects of our lives than others but with the right support we can grow in all areas. My innovative approach is accessible and practical.

Here are some examples of common issues I have helped people with:

* bereavement
* depression
* stress
* anger issues

LIFE TRANSITION COACHING

“My interaction with Martin was life-changing. It was an experience that I had never had before and which I will recommend to anybody who would want to have a somewhat secure understanding of themselves and what they may be going through or are likely to go through. I always looked forward to my meetings with Martin.”

Matthew K., elected counsellor

Significant change often brings people to a temporary personal crisis. At these times, we can feel that we are holding back from life, scared of what the future may hold or worried that we will fail. Emotions may become intense and behaviour may alter, sometimes with adverse effects on ourselves and those around us. Yet such times also offer an opportunity to review our lives and to make skilful, practical changes. My work, based on professional insight and compassion, can help you navigate the challenges. I offer a service of brief to medium-term support, working across a range of issues. These may include:

* divorce and separation
* bereavement
* beginning or end of a relationship
* adjusting to step-family or in-laws
* redundancy
* change of careers/jobs
* retirement
* children moving out
* relocation
* ‘coming out’
* spiritual crisis

    TESTIMONIALS

    I have no hesitation recommending Martin Egan as a colleague. He is a person of deep integrity, humanity and wisdom, combined with good common sense. He is perceptive and well attuned to personal and group dynamics. I have witnessed him being extraordinarily facilitative in a group setting, in a very warm and at times appropriately witty manner. He manages conflicts well and can assist people to reach resolution to conflictual issues in ways that enhance mutual appreciation and respect. I believe that Martin would be a unique resource and an asset in any interpersonal setting whether as a psychotherapist, corporate coach or organisational development consultant.
