About me

Full Member Association for Coaching

Are you ready to make changes?
Do you want to feel positive about your life instead of being unhappy, undecided and 'stuck'?
Well, coaching can be the answer if you're willing to take that first step.

My aims as a coach are to help you have the life you want , help you define and manage change.

We can work on how to build confidence, re-assess your career, grow your business, reduce stress, work smarter, not harder, and create a healthier lifestyle. I also focus on new beginnings of all kinds, whether in your personal or professional life.

Whether you want to make small 'tweaks' or initiate far-reaching changes, why not get in touch for a no-obligation chat to see how I can help?

Coaching sessions give you the space to talk through your ideas, fears, doubts, drivers then develop action-plans to make positive and achievable changes.

I act as a sounding board, a motivator but will also challenge any negativity and self-destruct habits you've acquired along the way.

I'm passionate about helping you achieve your goals or, before that point, establishing what you want to achieve.

These are some of the areas my former clients have worked on with me:

  • Where to go with a career.
  • Building a business.
  • Managing stress at work or home
  • Building on creative talents
  • Interview preparation
  • Developing confidence and self-belief.
  • Creating happier relationships
  • Starting again after separation or divorce.
  • Having a healthier lifestyle.

There is no such thing as a 'typical' client: I coach professionals on work-life balance and career change, clients retiring, moving on from redundancy or wanting to go back to work after a break, small business owners who want support with setting targets and clients who want support with relationships but not through counselling.

I work with you 1:1 usually for 2-6 months - occasionally longer. On average my clients have between 4-8 sessions. Some long term clients see me once every couple of months to help them stay on track. Before we begin you'll receive my initial questionnaire to help you focus your thoughts, and give your coaching a direction and structure.

I've a Diploma in Personal Coaching (2005). I've coached from a practice in Hitchin for 11 years, and by phone and Skype within the UK and internationally.

My background is in education, across several sectors and all ages. I have commercial experience, having worked as a recruitment consultant in the City. I am also an author, have had two self-help books published and I contribute to national broadsheets on careers, education and parenting topics.

Further information

'When I started coaching I was 2 years into trying to find a job in my chosen career and finding it very difficult after receiving many job application rejections. I am usually a very positive up beat person but I was feeling very low at this point. Coaching gave me the mindset to stay positive when things were not going to plan and look at different ways to find opportunities that I had not considered before. It was extremely helpful to talk to Glynis about my interests and goals to build a positive plan on how to tackle things. Even after my first session I felt a new burst of inspiration.

My goal was to find a job and coaching helped me achieve that, but it also helped me with other personal issues along the way. It’s been really helpful talking to Glynis, she’s extremely understanding and always has a positive look on things. I would definitely recommend anyone considering coaching to talk to Glynis.'
Clare, Bedfordshire
Targets achieved: new job in a specialist field, greater confidence, better personal life.

Glynis is a highly professional coach, who is excellent at listening and turning that knowledge into well formulated questions that get to the heart of the issue.  I have had coaching before and find it beneficial to help set goals and get clarity of ideas and direction. Glynis helped me achieve that, as well as a better understanding of my true motivations.
Mrs MH, Business Owner, Herts
Targets achieved:
clarity over a new direction

'The changes I made with Glynis prepared me for taking on new work with some important clients. I am now busier than ever at work but am more relaxed at home and my family feel the benefits too.'
I now feel that I have solid direction and focus which is in no small part thanks to Glynis."
Miss AF, Company Director, Bedfordshire

Targets achieved: Business development, better work-life balance, confidence.

'I went to Glynis at the point of feeling physically ill due to stress at work, after returning from maternity leave. Glynis helped me work through how I should balance my career with my family life, giving me the space to address all the issues that had built up.
I have been able to change jobs to fit more flexibly with my family but also provide career development and I am not stuck in a rut as I feared I would be.'
RW, Hertfordshire

Targets achieved: A decision over a change of job, promotion to a senior role, better work-life balance.

"I was coached by Glynis for around a couple of months as I needed to develop my confidence and manage my nerves in interview and negotiation situations. She was an extremely good coach in terms of applying specific techniques and methods to help me improve. She went beyond her remit and suggested some elocution coaches as well [English is not my mother tongue]. I am extremely pleased with her coaching and would recommend her highly. "
Mr MA,

Targets achieved: new role in a company, confidence, more positive attitude.

“I had a small number of sessions with Glynis as I prepared for a series of interviews for a senior new global role in my company. I found the sessions extremely valuable and they helped me focus my CV and thought processes to deal with the 16 hours of interviews over a number of weeks.
She has a very easy going manner and is not there to sit in judgement of you, just help you focus and channel your energies in the right direction. It was great working with her to boost my confidence levels and
I was successful with my endeavours”
Steve, Herts
