'Stuck in thought?' I can help.
Have you ever found yourself 'stuck in thought'? That's when it seems that a way of thinking that you don't want just won't go away. People who are 'stuck in thought' can feel helpless, hopeless and lacking in confidence.
But there is hope. I love coaching especially in the area of personal development and I'm passionate about helping you to break free from thought patterns that aren't helpful, building your confidence and giving you the tools that you need to make the changes that you want. I specialise in helping people break free of phobias, anxiety and OCD. There are powerful, proven techniques such as ERP (Exposure Response Prevention) that, when used in conjunction with CBT techniques, can help you break free of phobias, OCD and general as well as specific anxieties. It will require hard work and commitment but it will be so worth it!
I offer career coaching and I have helped clients seek promotion, work in the first place and help affirm a career path that they have chosen providing them with valuable skills in how to to present their best in interview and learn what to do and what not do with presentation software in interview.
I provide business coaching having worked with both middle and senior staff from Addenbrooke's Hospital and I am now a member of the coaching team providing coaching for Area Deans within the Diocese of Essex.
With many years' experience in the Primary Education sector I have taught children from all ages in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Recently, however, I also became a Mentor at Harlow College providing learning support for students. I have also led the development and implementation of my previous school's staff coaching system. Drawing from established good practice, I tailored the model to meet the school's specific needs. This system has been in place for over three years and has had a major impact on school development, particularly in the areas of Teaching and Learning and in Leadership and Management.

Areas of coaching I deal with
For non-executive coaching I charge £50 per hour plus travel expenses; however, this is negotiable depending upon financial circumstances. Please do contact to discuss.
For executive coaching: £150 per hour plus travel expenses. Minimum session: 2 hours.
Coaching is charged at an hourly rate and any part over an hour may incur a charge proportionate to the hourly charge based upon an interval of 15 minutes. Therefore, were the session to last 1 1⁄4 hours the cost may be 1 session + 1⁄4 of a session; 1 1⁄2 hours would be 1 session + 1⁄2 session etc. The additional charge is at the discretion of the coach.
Payment is due at the end of the session or the day unless alternative arrangements have been agreed with stephenlongcoaching.
I have worked in primary education since 1990: firstly, as a classroom and senior teacher and from 2003 to 2014 as an IT project leader, Network Manager and Senior Member of staff in Ripple Primary School. I implemented the current coaching model used within the school and one of my responsibilities was Staff and Pupil Welfare.
I especially love helping people of all ages to free themselves from unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours. I have written an e-book entitled: Why Did I Do That? In layman's terms it explores why people behave like they do and how they can learn to avoid behaving in ways that they don't want to in the future. The Kindle e-book can be downloaded by going to my website and following the link on the homepage.
I am a committed Christian and co-lead a Fellowship Group. I am also a worship leader at the church that I attend. With my wife I lead the Marriage Preparation course and have done so since 1994.
