Sarah Westwood Coaching
Do you wish to make a change in your life? Are you feeling stressed? Thinking that you could do things differently? I work with individuals supporting you with improving your well being and relationships. This includes health and wellness, stress management, work-life balance, coping with anxiety, developing confidence. You may wish to start planning an approach to your next life stage e.g. marriage, new baby, 'empty nest', retirement etc.
I have experience of working closely with adults and young people facilitating learning, mentoring and advising on career choices from my 20 years as a Psychology A level teacher. More recently I have qualified as a Coach. I have a Certificate in Coaching from the Centre for Coaching and I am an NLP Practitioner (Association for Integrative Psychology AIP). I am a member of the British Psychological Society (Special Group for Coaching Psychology) and an Associate Member of the Association for Coaching. I trained as a Couples Counsellor with Relate and I also work with couples who are planning a new phase in their lives.
I was a teacher for many years and trained as a Couples Counsellor with Relate. I trained as a Life Coach with the Centre for Coaching and I am an NLP Practitioner. My experiences give me insight into my work – for example I have a particular understanding of the issues teachers face in developing a work/life balance.
As a coach I will work with you as a partner in a thought-provoking and creative process that will help you to maximize your personal and professional potential. My aim is not to direct you, but to support you to find and to follow your own direction to achieve your goals.
To do this I will listen to you and act as a sounding board. I will encourage you to work through the challenges that you are facing. I use a variety of strategies and approaches based on your situation and what works best for you. These strategies are designed so that you will get a greater understanding of what stops you achieving what you want and how you can change to be able to move forward. They are strategies that you will be able to use yourself in the future.
Coaching sessions usually last 90 minutes (except for the first introductory meeting of 1 hour) and we will meet every 3 to 4 weeks. You will be able to email me between sessions for further encouragement.
