My services are 1-1 (Solution Focused & Cognitive Behavioural) Coaching in South East Wales and a monthly #FreshAirFridays group session in Newport - by the coast and in a forest.

I am available Monday to Friday (including evenings) and Saturday mornings. I provide 1-1 coaching in person and by telephone. Outdoor coaching and coffee shop coaching (in pre-selected and comfortable venues) is available along with private face-to-face coaching sessions at Kemeys Grange, Newport and the R&R Consulting Centre, Cardiff.
Coaching is all about being the best you can be and achieving in life what you really hoped for - and it's for anyone! Anyone who wants to make changes to, or make progress with, a particular area of their life - including employment. It is also for people who may have started already but have become stuck or stalled.
And if you don't know where to start, I can help with that too!
A coach helps you step back and reflect on your current situation, including yourself, and decide on new (usually exciting!) goals or assess your current goals and direction. Together, you'll work out how best you're going to move forwards and create action plans that work - effective ones! Coaches are impartial and as you work towards achieving your goals, they provide encouragement, a constructive sounding board and motivation. They will also discuss progress with you and you will receive non-judgemental (but sometimes gently challenging!) feedback. They also assist you to address any set backs and practical obstacles.
I am a Cognitive Behavioural Coach. This means I can also help you to overcome those psychological obstacles (unhelpful and hampering thoughts, feelings and behaviours) that we often encounter along the way to achievement and success.
You will get to know yourself better and increase your personal insight, skills and confidence for future activities and aspirations too.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have been supporting people to achieve their needs, goals and aspirations for over 15 years and I have the following qualifications:
- MSc in Occupational Psychology
- Certificate in Competence for Occupational Testing
- Certificate in Coaching (approved by the British Psychological Society)
- Post Graduate Certificate in Mental Health
I also have personal experience of being coached.
Prior to coaching independently, I worked in condition management, vocational rehabilitation and employment coaching for NHS Primary Care, Rethink Mental Illness and Jobcentre Plus. I've attended Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioural and Motivational Interviewing training courses and keep up to date. My coachee's goals and action plans have ranged from condition management and life management to finding, sustaining and succeeding in the work.
Not all but many of my coachees have been people living alongside and managing:
- Physical health conditions/disabilities
- Specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia
In my role as a JCP Work Psychologist, I also offered an occupational interest, ability and aptitude assessment service - something I continue to offer today.
I am a member of The British Psychological Society's (BPS) Division of Occupational Psychology, the BPS Special Group in Coaching, The Association of Coaching and hold Professional Indemnity Insurance with Howden.

1-1 Coaching Consultation
I believe that all coaching should begin with a NO-OBLIGATION coaching consultation so this is the first step in all my services. We can meet at a choice of pre-selected and comfortable coffee shops for £30 or you can choose a private room coaching consultation for £60. I introduce coaching and you tell me about your needs, hopes, aspirations and knowledge of coaching - all in confidence of course.
The quality of the relationship between you and your coach is important to the success of the coaching programme.
If, after chatting, we think we can work well together and meet each other's expectations, then great and we'll make a start! First, we'll meet for a 2 hour 'Reflect, Explore and Plan' meeting. Here, we really start to focus and reflect on your hopes and aims, explore and choose goals and - by the end of the session - you'll have an anticipated coaching programme and a 'ready to go!' action plan.
You'll also receive your own copy of the coaching session notes and..... You're off!
My Work Talk service starts from £60 per session and increases according to session location (i.e. outdoors, coffee shop or consulting room), duration (1 or 2 hours) and, if applicable, the administration and feedback of occupational assessments. Please note, the administration of occupational assessments requires private consulting room appointments. The length of your Employment Coaching programme depends on your own particular needs and preferences - all jointly discussed and agreed.
My Life Talk service also starts from £60 per session and increases according to session location (i.e. outdoors, coffee shop or consulting room) and duration (1 or 2 hours). A Personal Coaching programme typically consists of meeting monthly for six months however your needs and preferences are at the heart of any coaching agreement. We reflect upon and review progress throughout and for some, success has taken less than 6 sessions to accomplish.
