About me

Smart Code Personal Learning and Performance Management was established in 2010, culminating 25 years practice, teaching and research into the key factors that determine human behaviour.

Founder Martin D Timoney, a Life Change Educationalist, Lecturer and NLP Master Practitioner has a vision to build an education-free learning institution in Scotland, created on the foundation of Ecology Representation, Personal Performance Mastery and Strategic Intervention.

The keystone to Timoney's vision is the BEMM Model, an advanced teaching and learning mechanism created for the measurement of human behaviour ecology management and modification.

In theory, BEMM follows a set of principles which study and model human brilliance - in practice BEMM has proven itself as the new language in creating a consistent and positive behaviour culture.

BEMM challenges how the mind thinks and the way we use language. It measures the affects on behaviour patterns and how we sequence our actions to achieve our outcomes.

It supports all stages of an individuals development and fits positively within the personal ecology system by using strategic interventions to prompt learners to experience and reflect on their ability to improve their skills base.

It enables learners to discover techniques for making the most of their brain and to explore key factors for making decisions which are solid, lasting and holistic.

It provides a collection of learning concepts to encourage learners to contextualise and test their thinking in real life situations.

It unlocks much of the potential that has been left largely untapped by most conventional methods of learning by using metaphors to create new ways of looking at reality and to deeply involve the learner in a process of discovery.

It stimulates increased self-awareness, both in personal circumstances as well as the working environment and focuses on activity that is aimed at exploring alternatives to habitual modes of thinking, feelings and decision-making.

It delivers a curriculum that is designed to equip learners with new skills, knowledge and techniques towards developing mastery over their personal life circumstances.

It endorses an inclusive approach which reflects a move away from a deficit model which focuses on aspects of the learner as the problem, where the learner is viewed as deficient in some way.

It creates a journey for learners to discover and develop the best in themselves by becoming more consciously aware of being in the present, being in control and being influential in everything that they do.

It establishes a basis for measurement of the learning journey and key performance outcomes.

It appeals to all learning and processing styles and offers a template to design and facilitate learning into a framework which encourages success.

It offers flexibility to adjust the design to accommodate what is happening in the learning environment.

It is an flexible system, providing structure to give feedback, support and guidance to ensure success time and time again.

The main focus is on creating results at a level beyond what learners, employers or potential employers have come to expect.

Ultimately, BEMM lays the foundation for establishing the journey towards human behaviour brilliance.

Training, qualifications & experience

Timoney has used his strong academic credentials and extensive experience in talent management, as a platform to provide strategic behaviour management and performance modification work to his clients for over 20 years.

Timoney is a full member of Association of Coaching and Vice President Education @ Toastmasters International Glasgow Central.

His ultimate focus is on working with individuals to help them build relationships, create inspiring visions and to develop, execute and achieve objectives aligned with their personal strategy.

His passion is developing negative and ordinary subjects into positive and high potentials by improving performance and personal effectiveness.

Throughout his career, he has taken up senior executive roles in new start companies, community regeneration, human resource management, training and personal coaching.

His responsibility has included complete business operations, knowledge and understanding of human performance management and recognising the importance of how culture, values and succession planning impacts on individual and company success.
