I passionately believe that we all have the potential to change and to reach for our goals. At times our focus or direction may be hidden or seem out of reach, however we have the ability to overcome inner obstacles and make positive changes in our lives.
To begin with we have to accept who we are, how we operate and learn to believe in ourselves.

I am a professional, ICF Accredited Trained Coach (Full Circle Development training) and provide 1-1 coaching to people who are looking for more balance and fulfilment in their lives. Whether you want to concentrate on your career, work-life balance or your overall health and well-being, coaching can help you find your focus, motivation and mojo again!
I originally trained as general nurse and have over 20 years’ experience working with people from all walks of life. I have extensive training in health behaviour change techniques, motivational interviewing, communication skills and telephone helpline skills. My specialty is health and wellness coaching both for people with long-term illnesses and for people who want to stay as healthy as possible.
I adhere to the International Coach Federation’s ethics and professional standards. I have comprehensive professional indemnity insurance cover.

- Appointments are available face-to-face in Central Edinburgh & East Lothian, by telephone, Skype or Facetime. The first session will usually last around 1.5 hrs, other sessions will be approximately 1 hr.
- Sessions are normally £55 each or £275 in advance for a block of 6. If you feel that these fees prevent you from committing to ongoing work, please let me know as I can offer some flexibility.
Coaching is an amazing, forward-moving journey of self-discovery and change. I’ve seen clients achieve goals and aspirations they once thought were beyond their reach.. And always, the achievement is accompanied by a greater sense of self-belief.

What happens in a coaching session?
Coaching differs from counselling in that we would concentrate on what is happening for you just now. Our sessions would involve an exploration of your whole life – I will ask you questions and then let you do most of the talking!
Using some creative visual exercises we would define a sense of how you would like things to be, where you want to make changes and then we would focus our sessions on working towards your goals by creating mini-steps or ‘actions’. In doing so we would hope to uncover what’s important to you and how you want to live your life.
All sounds very ‘big’ but we would take it step by step. Though we will be working together, I will never take over or tell you what to do – you know yourself better so you are the expert.. in fact you are in charge!
Coaching isn’t always easy – what learning or process of change is? It is likely that you may feel resistance along the way as familiar patterns of thinking / behaviour arise. However, I will be there to guide and encourage you – challenge and keep you on track you if need be (not ‘nag’ I save that for my partner!) My style is to make coaching fun as well as hard work!
If you are interested in coaching we would have a free, informal chat (or meeting) to identify what you would like to get from coaching. If ‘the fit’ felt right for both of us, we would then agree to work together – usually for 6 sessions, however this is flexible. The first session will usually last around 1.5 hrs, other sessions will be approximately 1 hr and we would continually review how things are going for you. Sometimes you may take away ideas that you want to explore or work on before our next session – I have a wide range of exercises, worksheets and questionnaires that can often help stimulate thinking and self-discovery.
