I deliver bespoke life coaching and behaviour change sessions with people wanting to review and make positive changes to their daily lives. I can work with individuals or couples, in my home-based consulting room or via outdoor settings - making the most of the fresh air and unlimited resources for contemplation and rejuvenation that our countryside and parks have to offer.
I am a qualified NLP Master Practitioner and certified Life Coach, and I combine those skills with several years' worth of people-based motivational and behaviour change techniques to create individual solutions for each person or group.
Strawhouse Life reflects my love of the environment and the strength of the foundations that we each build our unique lives upon. I start from where each client is ready to begin, helping clients to recognise and build upon the range of amazing resources (s)he will already possess, to become the best they can be.
I have additional specialist experience working with women around their self-esteem and empowerment, and with men around how they increase awareness of their masculinity and maximise the positive aspects of their relationships as partners, fathers and male role models.
My work with you will be solution focused and will take as long or short a number of sessions as you feel you need - most people can achieve a massive amount of positive change in less than 6 sessions.
My extensive range of skills and experience gained through 25 years of working with people at very challenging points in their lives, equip me to tailor responses to most scenarios that may be considered by others as impossible to change. I have experienced and witnessed first hand that anything is possible!
Particular specialisms I can help with include: anger / emotional management, anxiety and low self-esteem (confidence-building), feelings of depression and low motivation or "stuckness", relationship difficulties, overcoming trauma and phobias, and general life goal reviewing and remotivation for personal development.
When you first get in touch with me, we will have a brief informal chat about what the main things are that you are wanting help with. We can then arrange a face to face initial assessment session: by the end of this I will have an idea of what I may be able to offer you and you will have an idea of whether you will benefit from further sessions.
If you decide to proceed with the core sessions, we will arrange these at mutually convenient times, and you can also decide if you want these to take place indoors or through nature / countryside based settings. You can change your mind around any of this on a session by session basis - just keep in touch.
Sessions can last either one hour or 90 minutes, depending on your preference. I also offer the option of a "Breakthrough Session" lasting 3 hours, where we explore in depth a specific or range of issues you want to focus on for quick and effective progress.
My techniques include the use of NLP theories and interventions - helping you understand and tap into your unconscious brain so you can gain greater control over things you do that previously you may have believed were "out of control" or irrational; I also utilise narrative and story therapies - finding safe and comfortable ways for you to identify and explore difficulties when talking about the heart of the problem is daunting. Some of what I do may involve physically moving around to utilise the space around you and increasing your awareness of your own body's responses to thoughts and situations. This is all done at your pace and through mutual agreement.
If I conclude at any point that my sessions are unlikely to help you achieve what you want, I will be honest about this and endeavour to signpost you to someone else who may be of assistance. This may be in situations where we identify you have long term support needs that require more in-depth therapy.
