A coaching programme typically consists of 4-6, fifty minute sessions. Once you have decided that coaching is right for you, I recommend an initial commitment to four sessions that can be extended if necessary.
Each session will begin by deciding on a mutually agreed agenda that will cover goal setting, exploring your challenges, skills practice and action steps to be taken between sessions. After each session, I will email a short summary of the action steps we agreed for us to review the next time we meet.
After our fourth session, we will review your progress so that you can decide if you are ready to complete the programme or if appropriate, to extend it. During our final meeting, we will reflect on your progress as well as the knowledge and skills you have learnt and consider how you will use them moving forwards.

As well as being a stress management and life coach, I am also a mindfulness coach and facilitator at SurreyMindfulness. Prior to my coaching career I was, for a short time, a primary school teacher. While I loved teaching and working with children, I found being a teacher extremely stressful. It was through my own experience of stress as well as witnessing my colleagues' experience of stress that I really became interested in it. I noticed that there was a direct correlation between the level of stress I experienced and my physical health: I noticed this too in my colleagues. Never before had I experienced so much stress and with it, experienced such poor health.
While working with children, I also noticed how early on in our lives the 'inner critic' begins to get established and from this voice, we begin to paint a picture of ourselves. If we talk to ourselves in the way we do from such an early age, it's no wonder that many of us succumb to stress or lack the resilience to deal with life's knocks.
It is this knowing of stress and difficulty from both sides of the fence that I am committed to helping others learn to manage stress and to get as much out of life as they possibly can.
My coaching style
My coaching style is very much influenced by my own background: my own experiences of difficulty and in working with others to cultivate mindful living. We all share suffering in some form and because of this understanding, my coachees find me non-judgemental, empathic and compassionate. Unusually, I don't encourage my coachees to be excessively positive when facing difficulty. Striving to think positively when experiencing difficulty can increase stress when the attempt doesn't feel authentic. Instead, I support my coachees in developing present moment awareness to help them make the most of life while it is happening as well as skills to help them cope with challenge whilst still actively working towards their goals.
