Grimsby and Cleethorpes YMCA
12 Rudham Avenue
North East Lincolnshire
Following the great success of the Mind Works Project (VANEL) supported by Reaching Communities funding, then under the YMCA Humber As Project Manager of Chrysalis Health & Wellbeing thanks to funding from the Preventative Services Market Development Board (CCG), We have now formed MindWorks Coaching as a private, confidential and independent practice.
We are providing cognitive behavioural coaching a talking therapy in and around North East Lincolnshire, offering individuals of all ages a more available, cheaper and faster route into talking therapy and mental health support they desperately need.
As well as providing low cost support, our research has clearly shown that there is a financial market out there for the services that we can now offer to a wider range of sources including private individuals, receive more referrals from GP’s and other mental health specialists, and from employers concerned about the health and wellbeing of their employees.
The effect of individuals being afforded support earlier will be the numbers of individuals presenting at their GP’s or local A&E when they are unable to get a GP appointment, or taking sick leave from work, will dramatically reduce thus resulting in significant savings in local health budgets and employer costs.
We provide sessions from a team of qualified Life Coaches, Therapists and BACP Qualified counsellors using a Cognitive Behavioural approach mainly Acceptance Behavioural Therapy and Training (ACT).

What is Guided self-help? How we can help?
We offer one-to-one sessions and courses to help you with problems such as:
- feeling unable to cope,
- being irritable or emotional,
- feeling low,
- not getting on with those close to them,
- experiencing difficulties at work,
- not sleeping well,
- or often feeling uptight and worried.
We believe that sessions with a Self Help coach can deliver real benefits. Each session can last up to one hour. When working with you, the Self Help coach will:
- Talk to you about any difficulties that you are having.
- Help you to understand why you are feeling the way you do.
- Help you to decide what you would like to work on first.
- Introduce you to a number of self-help materials
- Suggest some other supports that may be of use.
- Help you develop an action plan to deal with your difficulties.
We believe that one-to-one sessions can really help especially if you decide that a group course is not best for you due to anxiety.
