The Change Agency helps people to get what they want out of life whatever that may be. If there is something that an individual, group or organisation has always wanted to do but has not managed to do it for whatever reason. We are here to provide the inspiration to help make the positive changes to enable that change to happen in order that the aspirations become a reality. Through a variety of methods, including one to one coaching and mentoring the client will be able to make positive changes in order to achieve their goals.
What is coaching?
It’s about finding more about you, what you want from life, who you are, what motivates you, what makes you happy, it’s time for you. It is support for you to make positive life changes.
Coaching can be one to one or a group process that develops knowledge, skills and behaviours via questioning, probing and informal instruction. The process has three clear outcomes:
- Support to develop a clear action plan enabling them to put learning into practice
- Act on the action plan
- Review progress and continually amend the plan as necessary
What happens in a coaching session?
Through discussion and with the help of tools and techniques I work with you to support you to gain insight into you and your situation and working together within the session to focus on the positive change that you want. The focus on a goal can assist you to gain understanding of yourself. Overall targets can be worked on and the desired goal that you want to achieve.

I have worked with people to achieve their goals and dreams. I work with individuals and organisations providing leadership development, coaching and mentoring to leaders and personal coaching to individuals wishing to make positive changes.
I also offer coaching for children, young people, parents or people working with children. I am here to provide the inspiration to help you and the child make positive changes, to enable change so that your aspirations become a reality.
I help to motivate you to get the best out of life, offering practical down to earth coaching to individuals or groups.
How do I work with children?
Before the first session I always have a conversation with the parents (either face to face or telephone) so I know what issues they would like me to address. However, in the first session with the child I always ask the child what they would like to talk about. I feel that it is important to address anything that is worrying the child first. The coaching session is the child’s time when parents are present I respectfully ask the child for permission to speak to the parent. All information sharing and feedback to parents is done outside of the coaching situation.

Where do I work from?
I work from home so that children are in a relaxed atmosphere. I also work in schools and other organisations.
What happens in a coaching session with children?
Through discussion and listening, worksheets and techniques are introduced aimed at supporting the child to move forwards. These may include ideas to improve self awareness, assist in communication, insights to help develop self awareness and expand options and choices. I can support your child to gain insight into themselves and their situation, and working together within the session I focus on the positive change that they want. We focus on a goal to assist them in gaining an understanding of themselves, and ultimately achieving their goals.
Gillian has created a business that is relevant to the needs of both young people and adults. She has worked with some challenging students enabling them to improve their ability to identify and work towards achieving their goals.
As an ‘outsider’ Gillian was able to meet our young people with no previous knowledge or personal agenda. This meant the students did not feel pre- judged and were, therefore, more open with her regarding their behaviours.
The work carried out with the students (all Year 10 boys) was well structured and age-appropriate and, despite their different learning abilities and styles, all were able to access Gillian’s sessions and develop valuable skills.
Gillian supported the students’ personal development to an extent where I was able to see improvements in a relatively short period of time. Each now has a deeper understanding into their own strengths and weaknesses and all have a ‘toolbox’ of strategies to manage difficult situations.
Gillian is creative in her approach and extremely professional. These strengths clearly allow her to gain the trust of the people she works with and I would have no hesitation in recommending her.

I am a qualified Life Coach and operate from Stockport, Cheshire. Prior to establishing the Change Agency, I worked for over 20 years at senior management level in the field of social care, children’s services, and most recently as a consultant for a large multi-national company supporting the development of a government initiative. I have helped to drive high standards of quality and have implemented organisational change for a number of services. I have an MA in Management, a social work qualification and am qualified in personal, leadership and executive coaching and mentoring. I bring energy, passion and insight to support those I work with to help to gain a greater understanding of themselves, in both their professional and personal lives. I have developed a range of tools and techniques from my work over the years that I bring to my work with clients.

What is DISC?
The DISC model presents a series of four main descriptions (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance).
Dominance = Results driven - strategic planning and action towards identified aims - tends to be outspoken.
Influence = Influence, persuasion, affability - communication and people skills - tends to be extraverted.
Steadiness = Steadiness and process - routine, dependability, reliability, credibility, trustworthy - tends to be team-orientated.
