About me

My name is Geraldine and I am a qualified Performance Coach with 13 years experience in a number of sectors including education, the arts and the voluntary sector.

I have personal experience of career change, having worked in the charity sector in training, research and policy, before becoming self-employed as a Performance Coach and Project Manager in the music industry. Throughout my working life I have mentored, coached, trained and managed individuals in diverse settings, and I gain great satisfaction from working with people to help them move forward and achieve their goals.

I offer support to help individuals address a range of challenges including career change, performance management, confidence, improving relationships at work, and decision-making.

What is coaching?

Coaching is a form of support that can be transformative for individuals who want to work towards a goal. This goal can be connected with their home life or their professional performance.

Coaches work with individuals on a one-to-one basis over a period of around six months and provide clients with a challenging but supportive framework within which to:

  • identify and develop strategies to deal with behaviours and habits that may be preventing you from getting to where you want to be;
  • set and monitor actions that will help you make progress towards your goal.

It is non-directional; coaches guide, challenge and support clients to make their own considered decisions about the issues that affect them. Sessions can be face-to-face or via telephone.

How can coaching help me?

If you want to make a change in your life or work and are ready to take action to pursue that change, then coaching could be a useful process for you. Coaching can be helpful for people who:

  • want to make a career change or find a new job
  • want to pursue a project outside of work
  • are struggling with the challenges of being a freelancer or self-employed
  • want to improve performance or relationships at work
  • are adapting to a new sector, role or responsibilities

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience mentoring, training and coaching individuals from diverse backgrounds, and have coached young people, academics, musicians, artists, and freelancers in a range of industries. I trained as a coach with Full Circle Development where I studied for a Certificate in Professional Coaching Practice, a course accredited by the International Coaching Federation. Previously I worked in the charity sector for 10 years, managing training and capacity-building programmes, leading campaigns, and developing research and policy initiatives. I have published numerous pieces of original social research.

In addition to my professional experience in the voluntary sector and as a coach, I currently manage a successful pop choir based in London that has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, on the BBC and on the main stage at Bestival. I am a committed volunteer, having given time to organisations working with homeless people, children and young people, victims of violence, and to a number of community arts and music projects. I currently volunteer for a charity working with refugees and asylum seekers. I have also lived abroad twice in my life - once in Italy and most recently in Canada.
