Diane Danzebrink - Coach, Therapist & Menopause Expert
Hi, I'm Di, welcome to my page, I discovered therapeutic coaching when I needed it most. When life threw me a bit of a curveball and left me feeling very low, stuck and unable to move forward I knew I needed help and support but was completely baffled by the choice of over 400 different types of therapy and coaching and in no state to plough through them all. Perhaps you are feeling the same way? Fortunately, I was recommended to a coach who integrated counselling and coaching and the work that we did together helped to change my life!
So what is Therapeutic Coaching?
Therapeutic coaching provides fast, brief, effective therapy that works by combining coaching tools, skills & strategies with the very best counselling theory in an integrative therapeutic model.
It's a forward-looking, solution-focused approach that helps you explore the issues that are blocking you, re-connect with the resources you already have and then focus on the changes you want to make. During our work together you will learn the vital tools, skills and strategies which will allow you to focus on the future and get on with your life.
Many years ago I studied traditional counselling but I was left feeling disappointed that I had not been taught how to help my clients move forward with their lives. I was so disillusioned that I abandoned my dream of becoming a counsellor and followed an alternative career path. My personal therapeutic coaching experience provided a real ‘light bulb’ moment for me, this was what my counselling training had been missing and I went on to complete the diploma in fusion therapeutic coaching and rewind trauma therapy training.
I am passionate about my work, having experienced mental and emotional distress when I was least expecting it made me determined to use my experience to help others. I can truly empathise with just how scary it can be to take that first step but coaching has helped to change my life and it could do the same for you. If you are feeling stuck and frustrated but are now ready to move forward and would like to work with somebody who has been there then I look forward to meeting and working with you.
As you will discover if you continue to read on I am passionate about lots of things and one of those is menopause. All too often I see women in my private practice who have been diagnosed as depressed when in fact they are peri menopausal. Hormonal fluctuation can have a huge effect on our mental capacity and emotional health and I am determined to change the way women are being failed. As a result of my own menopause experience which had a profound effect on my quality of life for a period of time, I created the social enterprise project menopausesupport.co.uk, a service which provides evidence-based information, advice, guidance, and emotional support for women and their partners.
I have completed the menopause foundations course for nurses and I am the media lay spokesperson for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a member of the RCOG women’s voices involvement panel. I am regularly interviewed by the media and have appeared on the BBC 2 Victoria Derbyshire programme, ITV’s Lorraine and Good Morning Britain, ITV News and BBC Radio 4, Radio 5 live and Radio London. I am also a member of and ambassador for the British Menopause Society. I advocate for improved care and support for women experiencing menopause both in and out of the workplace and will be a consultant on the upcoming Royal College of General Practitioners curriculum review.
My other professional passions include working with clients struggling with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) contrary to what you might have read in the press PTSD can be treated in a very non-invasive way in a few short sessions. I have been incredibly impressed by the results of working with the rewind technique and have seen clients take significant steps forward in just one session.
Along with my therapeutic coaching and trauma work I also teach well woman yoga and yoga nidra (sleep yoga) and sometimes combine these modalities in my work.
I absolutely love horses and have spent many years as an equine therapist so often combine my equine experience to work with riders who have lost confidence or stopped riding completely due to a bad experience.
I love to teach workshops and run several emotional intelligence workshops every year.
I can regularly be found in businesses and organisations teaching menopause workshops or wellbeing workshops along with providing one to one consultations for individual staff members.

"I needed someone to listen, someone to see that I was an alright person. Someone to not just simply agree and pity me and join in with my drowning grief and no confidence state of mind. Someone who would not interrupt. Someone who realised my needs of simply identifying in order how to prioritise the heap of negative I carried around daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. Someone who gave me direction at last, someone who simply said Yes you can. If failure wasn't an option where would you like to be in your life? I replied Right here Di. You showed me how to be happy again in a short time. It was that I just needed someone to talk to. Thank you"
"I have been blown away by working with Diane. I had been struggling to get my head around enjoying horse riding, following a serious horse riding accident four years ago. I started riding again eighteen months after my accident but I had been gradually getting more fearful and very anxious with very scary, vivid flashbacks! This goes against thirty years of pleasure riding, which was upsetting me more. I tried so many things to help boost my confidence, but nothing worked. When I started seeing Diane she explained that I was suffering with post traumatic stress disorder related to my accident which was why I was having flashbacks but she assured me that she could help me. Since starting to work with Diane I have overcome so many obstacles in my mind that were holding me back, such as being able to ride unknown horses, riding on my own without supervision, no more flashbacks and generally enjoying my passion for horse riding again, which I never thought would be possible. I really feel that I can now start moving on and not let my past hold me back!" Liz
"I have been a confident rider all my life, evented to British eventing pre novice level. I have backed and hacked many young horses and willingly ridden tricky horses. September 28th 2009 saw an end to all of that following a very nasty accident which shattered my left knee. The accident was a total freak one and happened when mounting a young horse. I returned to riding as soon as I was physically able to but soon discovered I was feeling on edge all the time and especially so when mounting. I decided it was time to seek help as it was beginning to spoil the enjoyment of my lovely 5 year old Jazz. I spoke to Diane and she explained how she could help me. After my first appointment with Diane I didn't feel any different and almost felt disappointment!! Then a few days later I found myself mounting with no one holding my horse even though he was moving around, since that day everything has changed, I feel much more like the old me and can honestly say it feels amazing!! I can't recommend Diane enough and just wish more people would seek the help I have received, it has given me back my freedom of riding. Thank you Diane, Nina (and jazz ) xxx
"I’ve been a bit of a stress head most of my adult life but I’m now able to take control when I start to feel my anxiety levels rising. This has been achieved by learning relaxation techniques and the ability to take myself off somewhere quiet (mentally) to calm down. I’m amazed at how much better I’m sleeping and how much better I feel in my day to day life. Stressful situations no longer become explosive like they once did. The techniques I’ve learned from Diane have really helped me."
"Thank you Di, after seeing you and talking to you I started to look at myself differently. I decided to make some changes in my life including starting a diet. I am now seeing my old friends again and making new friends. The biggest change for me has been having the courage to say no to people who I feel have taken advantage of me, no more bullies! I feel a lot stronger in myself and can stand up for myself now. I no longer let things build up, I feel stronger about discussing things and finding the way forward. When I first came to see you I was so unhappy trying to keep everyone around me happy that I had lost myself. Thank you for helping me find myself again, life can be so mad but now I know that I am going to be alright. You are the best."
"I have discovered that deep down I have always known what I wanted but my sessions with Di have allowed me the time and space to reconnect with what I know is right for me. Di has helped me identify both short and long term goals and I now feel that I have been able to clear my mind and can focus on what I want from my life. The sessions have helped me relax and reminded me of the importance of positive thinking. I now have direction in my life again, It’s been so good to talk."
