I'm a Dr Martha Beck Certified Life Coach, trained career coach, qualified teacher and writer. I help sensitive, creative women to create the life that they truly want.
You want to face down the fears you have about doing what you really want to do with your life.
You want to do the things you really want to do rather than twiddling around doing the easy stuff.
You want to balance your sensitivity and wanting to do the best for others.
You want to learn how to be kinder to yourself.
You want to work in a structure that works for you, rather than living in a reactive way.
You have a sense that there is something you are struggling with on your own and you need some help getting to the other side.
The same patterns keep repeating in your life even though you have read all the mantras and done all the gratitudes!
You want to move from a place of fear, guilt and anxiety to a place of more trust and allowing so that you can live with more ease.
These kind of things are exactly the things that I help sensitive, creative women with through coaching.
I moved from work in the financial sector in London, through being a teacher at Prep schools in England to training as a coach and starting my own business. I also have become a contributor to many big websites such as ‘The Huffington Post,’ ‘Mind Body Green,’ and ‘Chopra.’
Like a trail guide for life’s path, I help my clients in finding their right path and then help them step by step as they work towards the life that they want and to being fully themselves. I help sensitive, creative women with gentle, highly focused and deeply meaningful coaching so they can head towards their right life
Oh, and if you’re wondering about the inside track, here’s some info on me.
I was born in Scotland and grew up on the outskirts of Glasgow. I’ve moved house 10 times in 17 years of marriage to my lovely husband and we have a super-duper daughter and a flat coated retriever with a huge sense of humour. Our flattie sings when anyone in the house plays piano and loves to parade shoes around, with a look that says he knows he shouldn’t. I have degrees in English and Philosophy and one in Art History and Creative Writing. I worked in a merchant bank in London, worked in an air museum and then trained to be a teacher before eventually training as a coach with Dr Martha Beck and started my own business while we were living in Hamburg, Germany.
In my first three years of coaching I have coached some amazing women and have been so delighted with the incredible feedback I have received, some of which you can read below.
I love doing ballet. I am a bookie monster and love reading coaching books, non-fiction and novels. I love visiting National Trust houses. I love really good dark chocolate. I’ve taken the lead in two amateur musicals. I love cooking and creating healthy meals. I love meditation and early nights, even though sometimes I am very tempted to stay up and read more. I love the sound of the sea. I love being cosy inside when it’s raining outside. I am multi-passionate and love learning new things. I have studied floristry, interior design and photography. I love listening to podcasts on my iPod. I used to think I would never find what I wanted to do when I grew up and would never find the right man and then I did on both counts.
I’m wondering, what if that part of you that believed in you, was right?
Sessions are by Skype or phone with occasional sessions takin place face to face.
We meet for an hour every week or every two weeks and I usually work with clients over a three or six month period so you really have the time and space to grow.
Email support is available between sessions and is an important part of our work together.
Before our first call I ask you to complete a questionnaire about your current life and where you want to see change / what you are struggling with. In our first call we go through all of that together so that I really understand where you are right now and can coach you from exactly where you are.
Subsequent calls usually begin with looking at what you are most struggling with and coaching on these areas.
We use a mixture of cognitive coaching, mind body tools, metaphor work, dream analysis and practical everyday tools such as how to organise or prioritise. This makes the coaching a mixture of the hugely grounded and more intuitive techniques. All of these help to unlock your own true answers.
The tools are drawn from my coaching with Dr Martha Beck who is a best selling author. She writes for Oprah Winfrey's magazine and has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show a number of times. I also draw from years of interest and experience in helping myself and others develop, both as a teacher and as a coach.

"Deborah holds a calm and kind space for her clients. She shows up with deep skills and sensitivity. You can trust her completely to guide you as you change your life." Susan Grace Beekman, Master Certified Coach.
"Deborah is a natural coach and amazingly resourceful – she always knows just the thing that will help you with your issue. She is truthful and open and gets to the core of the issue. With Deborah there is nowhere to hide, which is perfect, because she is on your side, she is genuinely supportive of you to reach your true potential, and she knows how to guide you there." Ozlem
"Coaching with Deborah has changed my life in a very significant, positive way. I’ve been challenged to think about things differently, in a much better than the way I would naturally revert to thinking. My mind has expanded. My belief in myself feels even more secure. I have taken away many life lessons even from the very first coaching session."
"I would recommend working with Deborah to mums who want to run their own businesses from home (or similar) because this would be perfect for these types of visionary, entrepreneurial women. Deborah challenges you to think about problems or internal battles very differently but in such a way that it is YOU discovering the changes and solutions for YOURSELF. She guides people to be their own best friend again and to make changes that they can take away from the call and apply to real life scenarios (without Deborah around to talk through the steps)." Roxanne Ford
"Deborah is a one-of-a-kind coach. She got straight to the heart of my challenge without judgement or discomfort, quickly helping me see through my problem with a new clarity and getting me to come up with ways to dissolve it, which has literally removed the issue. Deb is extremely easy to talk to, incredibly smart and you really feel her intuition. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough to anyone wanting to make positive changes in their life, whether you are entirely new to life coaching, a coach-in-training or a fully qualified coach yourself." Alison O’Leary
"As a mother, Deborah really knew where I was at. She was SO gentle and totally got my sensitivity and and could handle it, which I really appreciated. There were so many results and realizations that it is difficult to capture them all. I realized that that I don’t have to sell myself short I can make my dreams for work and life manifest, but I need to ensure self care and really really hone my intuition and listen to my gut instincts, so I don’t get overwhelmed with life. I’ve also gained more confidence in my writing and published articles. I loved having Deborah to confide in and found the email coaching in between sessions hugely supportive. I would recommend coaching with Deborah to other mums like me that are struggling to work out what to do post baby, to budding writers, to coaches, to sensitive people. Deborah was there for me when I needed her, through the yucky times and in the good. She was so dependable. I’m now excited about the growth of my Earth Mama business and looking forward to working with my new clients." Elizabeth Santos
