What Will You Experience
I love to coach outside, in nature, as I think it helps you to find a different perspective and connect with yourself in a different, more meaningful way. You will experience beautiful views, fresh air and a stimulating conversation to help you discover what is really important to you. On occasion, I also coach using some closed-eye processes to help go a bit deeper.
I enjoy sharing my passion of being outdoors with others, whether in a local park or botanic garden, the Pentland Hills, or in the bigger Scottish mountains. (I also have an indoor coaching studio if the Scottish weather doesn't play to the rules!)
My coaching practice is based in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and I also draw on other coaching practices when appropriate. My coaching style is supportive and encouraging, although at times I can be a little provocative. I love to see people find their freedom, and achieve their dreams.

I help people who feel stuck, trapped or directionless and work with them to help them identify what's really important to them, and make a change.
Whether you need career coaching, business coaching, to find more confidence or to work on some other personal development aspect, I can design a coaching series to suit your needs.
My clients often come with a mix of work-related, relationship and personal issues. This can be things such as finding the confidence to start your own business, achieving a better work/life balance, or discovering more direction in your life. Many of my clients are in a transitional period, such as being made redundant, getting out of a relationship, or kids growing up and leaving home. Situations like these can leave us questioning our identity......who are we now?
Other clients come with a goal in mind that they want to achieve, and I support them to find the internal resources they need, such as courage, confidence or motivation.
I have experience of working with people who have depression or suffer from stress. I find the forwards-looking approach of coaching useful to help you move forwards and find solutions.
How Coaching Helped Me
I know the effect that coaching can have - it helped me move from a corporate job where I was desperately unhappy (yet I felt trapped by the financial benefits,) into now, running my own business combining my passions for the outdoors with helping people. I love supporting people along their own journey to doing more of what they love and what makes them happy.
When you contact me, we will arrange a time for a 'Discovery Call' to check that we both feel we can work together. At our 'discovery call,' you can decide whether you would prefer to be coached inside in my coaching studio, or outside at a mutually convenient location. Day-time and evening appointments available, weekday and some limited weekend availability. We would also discuss the length of programme that may be appropriate.

Coaching Series available - buy a number of coaching hours, and tailor a package to split these into 1, 2 or 3 hours sessions as appropriate.

In addition to one-to-one coaching, I run Wellbeing Retreats, taking people away to the mountains for a weekend of intensive focus on an area of their lives. Some of my retreats are 'Walking-Coaching Retreats', combining hill-walking and life coaching. Others are 'Wellbeing Retreats', combining walking, coaching with Hatha yoga, taught by my business partner and dear friend, Lindsey Porter.
Outside of work, I enjoy leading expeditions to developing world destinations with school groups. I have recently led in Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Swaziland and Peru, and was lucky enough to be guiding an expedition in the Arctic Circle in January - March 2017. I also regularly volunteer with the Scouts to run mountaineering courses, and with Duke of Edinburgh groups.
When not in the mountains, I enjoy reading books, colouring, and cooking. (Well maybe not the cooking as much, but eating!)
