About me

About Me

I  work with professional people to Create, Enable and Sustain behavioural change and skills. My clients are looking for Executive and Business Coaching. You may be an experienced manager/ director looking to gain clarity on strategic direction of your business or a professional wanting to develop specific behavioural skills . Perhaps you are considering that next career move or have been newly promoted and would like to develop your leadership style.

Other typical goals that may bring you to coaching include: Personal Development; Motivation; Feeling overwhelmed; work life balance; developing resilience; overcoming obstacles in managing change, making better decisions, driving sustainable performance and managing organisations well in today’s complex world.

A particular area of specialism is working with organisations coaching in developing influencing and negotiation skills. I trained with an organisation in Boston, MA, whose approach came out of a think tank from Harvard University called the Harvard Negotiation Project. The techniques have been used with incredible success in the Middle East and South Africa over the years.

As well as coaching managers I design, facilitate and deliver learning events for managers within the context of their organisations cultural objectives

What ever I am doing in my work, whether it is with groups or individuals, the focus of my attention is on the personal development of you – who you are and who you can become.

Helping people to understand their strengths, build confidence and self belief and  use these to achieve their goals, is my area of expertise.

My coaching practice has evolved over the years, encompassing experience gained through roles as Sales Director, Senior L&D positions within large organisations, consultancy and my own business. The focus in all of these areas has been in helping people to enhance their performance and results in all areas of their life.

Along the way I trained as a psychotherapist and integrated those skills with business and life coaching so that I could work in a more integrated way with people. More recently in recognising the importance of managing our minds in the busy world that we live in, I have trained as a Mindfulness Teacher and hold programmes to help people develop skills that bring balance,  better perspective, develop better relationships with themselves and others and enhance well being.

Life is about many aspects and essentially it is about balance in all of them - career, health, wealth, relationship or family related. Raising awareness of what it is you do, what it is you want and acquiring some knowledge, skills and tools that provide you with choices and options, is what I do.

What is Life Coaching

The world is changing faster than ever before. Every aspect of our lives is changing, the way we shop, work, are educated, communicate, socialise. When there is so much change happening it is easy to lose our sense of direction and purpose.

Most of us are aware of what it is we don't want in our lives, but we are not always clear on what we do want, or what we need to do in order to make changes. My area of expertise is in working with individuals, helping them to gain clarity on what they want and what they need to do in order to succeed in achieving their goals.

My Coaching Style

Coaching is a confidential 121 relationship between two people. I will work with you to clarify your goals and help you to determine how to best achieve them.

It sounds simple and indeed it is, however in this increasingly busy world very few people have time to stop for long enough to reflect or “see the wood for the trees”. This can result in feeling stuck in a rut, repeating the same mistakes, having a poor work/life balance and feeling out of control.

Coaching is about many things, however, principally it is about behavioural change that benefits you at home, at work and the results that you achieve. In effect it addresses the whole person which tends to result in sustainable change rather than short term fixes.

Coaching is not therapy or counselling. I will have faith in you, listen to what you say and also what you don’t say. I will challenge your thinking with questions to encourage deeper self awareness. I will be flexible and am able to offer tools or models where appropriate to help you explore your personality, thinking or problems.

The agenda is always yours and you should always feel that you have been truly heard although you may have had to work hard along the way.

This sounds easy, but many people find this extremely challenging and if you don’t feel ready to take responsibility for your behaviours and results then coaching may not be suitable for you – yet.  The good news is that this process is extremely empowering and if you do embrace the process with open arms the results are swift and powerful.

Your Programme

Once I receive your enquiry I will send you a Discovery Questionnaire so that I can learn a little about you before our first session. The questionnaire will also enable you to focus your thinking and increase your self awareness. We will then begin with an initial free, 30 minute telephone or Skype session, where we will explore your responses to the questionnaire and discuss your goals and how us working together will help you achieve them. We will then agree a contract that will enable us to stay focused and support you in moving towards your goals.

The coaching programmes are delivered in sessions of four - the first session will be a  90 minute face to face session in which we will clarify your goals and establish the outcomes of coaching for you; followed by three 60 minute face to face, Skype or telephone sessions ,approximately 2 weeks apart. The real coaching happens between the sessions when you take the understanding and increased awareness gained through our conversations and you take actions that we will build on in each session.

Further information

For anyone in need of help with direction, I totally endorse Carroll's service. Carroll's 1-2-1 sessions came at a time when I was facing a major cross road in my life. I needed someone to help me understand what was right for me, without any agenda. I had 6 sessions and each one was deeply challenging but it has now steered me towards what I want rather than what I do not want. I will be eternally grateful for Carroll getting me on the right road to enjoying my life again.

I discovered CM2C when I had reached a critical point in my career and was struggling to identify my future direction.

Meeting Carroll was a breath of fresh air and within our first session she had identified the key triggers that I was struggling with and also quickly proposed practical solutions. Over the following sessions we worked together to identify what really mattered to me including career satisfaction, values and challenges ahead.

Carroll’s experience of working in the Corporate world, combined with her skills in leadership and development have really helped me to asses, plan and implement a career change which is far more fulfilling and rewarding than when we first met.
