Profile

I help people to live the life they want to live, to achieve more in personal and work settings, to overcome negative and destructive thinking, to cope effectively with the problems life throws at them and be happier and more fulfilled.  I also offer specialist advice to people with alcohol or drug problems.

About me

A career as a director of a successful marketing consultancy gave me immense experience in communication and persuasion across the whole of industry from financial services to butter. The new millennium was my time for a new challenge. Of the therapies and disciplines I had encountered, NLP fascinated me and I enrolled on an introductory course. I was so amazed and impressed by its effectiveness that I knew this was what I wanted to do and I continued my training to become a Master Practitioner.

I have since worked as a freelance life coach, helping people with a variety of issues and ambitions to achieve their potential. I have also worked within the NHS Drug and Alcohol Service as part of a team of dedicated professionals, using my NLP experience to help a lot of people with problems.

NLP has changed my life.   It has helped me to handle the big difficulties many of us face without being affected by stress. I now enjoy using it to help other people to change theirs and to be the people they want to be.

NLP and Life Coaching

Coaching can help you define what you want out of life and create a strategy for achieving it. Many of us have stages where we feel ‘stuck’ - not fully in control or unable to move forward - for instance after the end of a relationship, after children leave home, or after losing a job or retiring.

Change is an inevitable part of all our lives, and many people find it unsettling and difficult to handle. Using NLP can assist the process of adaptation, reduce feelings of limitation and open up choices.

- NLP coaching is not the same as counselling - it emphasises finding solutions rather than analysing causes.

- NLP respects each individual’s own views and life experiences and does not try to impose beliefs or behaviours.

- NLP coaching works fast - three sessions is often enough to make a significant difference.

Alcohol & drug problems

In addition to my life coaching work, I offer thorough confidential assessment, advice and ongoing support to people suffering from drug and alcohol problems, liaising with GPs and treatment units if required.  However, I much prefer it when people contact me early - as soon as they feel they may have a problem, before it becomes a dependency - because then the treatment is far less unpleasant, and the outcomes are much better.

Types of coaching

I prefer to do most of my coaching face to face - in my experience this is much more effective.  However, I maintain contact with my clients by email and telephone in beetween sessions as necessary, and can offer interim skype sessions to clients who are away for an extended period.
