Thinking differently - go beyond the problem

January 19th, 2012 by Richard Searson MPNLP

We all have times when we face issues or problems and become stuck. For some being stuck is the worse place to be, however it is at times like this when real thinking can start to occur, where opportunities can emerge and learning takes place. Remember the brain will take the path of least resistance, however the skill is ensuring the correct decision for you. As a coach it is my role to support clients in this way and to look beyond the problem to a place that is "not problem." This may seem a strange comment to make, but if you can go beyond and move out of the issue you are dealing with opens up far more choice than thought possible before. Likewise when things happen to us, we can so easily go into blame mode and be at the effect of that situation. The great achievers are able to get to cause of any problem quickly, if you can think that just maybe I could have caused some of this then again the solutions possible increase and so does the positive results and increased personal well being.
