Reflections

It's been a whirlwind of days, weeks and months so far in 2017... Less than 60 days left until we see the back of another year

Are you growing as an individual? Are you growing as a person? Are you becoming the leader that you were designed and created to become? Or are you lost and consumed in chasing your dreams?

It's great to have goals, aspirations, desires and to pursue your dreams... I believe that you should pursue your dreams, I think that more people should pursue their dreams... but at what cost? What are you sacrificing in the process? Who are you hurting in the process?

On one side, you can be perceived as too sensitive, too nice and seen as a pushover or weak... but if you stray too far on the other extreme, you run the risk of coming across as narcissistic, self-absorbed and not caring about anyone nor anything else, except achieving your dreams and goals... How selfish of you for putting yourself first! Your energy will be intense, destructive and you will end up repelling people from you! You will end up losing all your friends and alienating yourself! You will end up in the NFL club (No friends left club)!

You're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't! What do you do?! Life is a conundrum, isn't it?! You just can't seem to win, can you?! It just feels like you're fighting a losing battle, doesn't it?!

So, how do you move forward? How do you progress?

What I have learned (and all that I really know is that I know nothing) is that success, happiness, fulfilment and abundance is never really about the money we make nor cool things that we acquire... success is never about what we glean from the process, but rather who and what we become in the process. How valuable are you? What value do you offer to others? Why would people want to hang around or work with you?

Get focused on your dreams, desires and goals; but don't chase your dreams, for you may just end up chasing your dreams away! Simply focus on becoming the person that will attract all the things that you desire.

When you start to develop, grow and evolve with rapid acceleration, never forget where you came from! You will encounter people that are currently where you used to be. These people may not be able to understand, comprehend nor accept where you currently are on your journey, and that is ok. Don't try and force them to see what you see, it is not your responsibility to change anyone!

Always remember that you have passed where they are passing, you may even have been that person that they currently are, and you could just as easily end up back there.

Always remain humble, compassionate and loving. If you have a choice between being right or being kind, always strive to be kind

1) Be kind to everyone (everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect, regardless of whether they are right or not, smart or not, successful or not)

2) Be sociable with many. We are tribal creatures. We crave connection, acceptance and belonging. No man is an island... Everyone deserves to belong, to be part of a community, to accepted and to be loved

3) Be familiar with few... Choose your inner circle wisely. Do not stay where you are tolerated, go where you are celebrated
