Change the way you think and feel in a flash

Some people are not aware that they are able to change their inner monologue and their state of mind. In fact one of the most important aspects of change is awareness.
Awareness is key because it focuses us on the here and now, allowing us to understand how we perceive ourselves and the world around us in the present moment. But how many of us do this? How many of us check in to see what we are thinking and feeling?
We are all guilty of just letting our state of mind have its own life, and if we are feeling low, depressed or negative, then changing these thoughts and feelings will make a huge difference in so many ways.
The ability to check in allows us to become aware, and once you have awareness of your state, you then have the ability to change it.
This can have immediate effect on all kinds of issues and performance related tasks. All that is needed is the commitment and energy to take action.
There are many processes and techniques which enable us to do this.
Here is one of my favourites:
Bring your awareness to the present and focus your attention to where the negative thoughts are coming from.
If you have become aware that these thoughts and feelings are not helping you, then you may want to make a commitment to change them.
Find the precise location of your experience. Throw the experience out in front of you, so you are now disassociated from it.
Then throw it twice as far away again.
Ask yourself “If it was spinning, which way would it spin?” and then spin that way, see it spin so fast that it just evaporates down to the floor.
Then bring your awareness back to your unconscious mind and ask it to create a metaphorical gift that is going to help you think in a different way. It may be a symbol, colour, word, picture etc. Whatever it is, just trust it.
Then send this gift all around the universe.
Throw it out into the cosmos, and send it on a vast super speed adventure. When it comes back it has something extra with it. Ask yourself to realise what that may be. Again this can be anything.
Once you have your gift with its extra component, see it in front of you and then place it in the location of the original experience.
Ingest the different experience and become aware of the change in thoughts and feelings.
In essence we are in control of our state, thoughts and feelings. Sometimes things happen which will spark a reaction, but if we communicate with ourselves in a creative and positive way, we can then move forward rather than get stuck in a rut.
The most important thing to do is to take action and make the first step. This takes a little energy, but that is all. Therefore the choice can be all yours; to live a life in a way in which you want, or just coast through it, allowing circumstance and reality to choose your state of mind.
