Why you should be proud of making mistakes

All it takes is a willingness to learn to gain knowledge from our mistakes. With each error we come across, we can get to know what works and what doesn’t. If we didn’t make any mistakes, we wouldn’t have any opportunities to learn valuable lessons.

2. They spark creativity

When something isn’t working, the first thing we tend to do is find a solution. Without mistakes, we lose the creativity that’s needed to find the answer to our problems.

3. They can help us learn to be more resilient

When making mistakes, we get to understand that to overcome life’s challenges, adversity is needed. We can’t be seen to stay in the same place for too long – we need to be flexible. Without making mistakes we would just stay in our comfort zone, not moving forward.

4. They help us with new ideas

One of the most effective ways to gain new ideas is by making mistakes. Tripping up like this forces us to push our limits.

5. They can give us courage

Each time we make a mistake and acknowledge them, we become stronger and more motivated to do better next time. We learn that admitting our faults takes bravery, and only when you have admitted them can you grow as a person.

These are just a few ways of how making mistakes can improve our lives. Let’s sign off with this quote:

“Sometimes when you innovate, you make mistakes. It is best to admit them quickly, and get on with improving your other innovations.” – Steve Jobs
