Ten minute career coaching tips
Every now and then its important to sit back and consider what you would really like to achieve in your career. Working takes up such a large proportion of our time, yet we spend very little time really thinking about what we are doing, if we are enjoying it and how to progress.
If you feel that you have become stagnant and would like to set yourself some goals which may help you to move forward in your area of work then try jotting them down. Writing something down means you are turning a thought into something which could actually be achieved and once it is on paper you can start to gain the experience needed to help you achieve it.
Think about whether it is you that has moved things forward in the past, or is this something that has been prompted or suggested by someone else? If so this can result in us being in positions that we aren’t really that happy in. Though it’s never easy to change jobs we need to be in a position we feel relaxed in. This will help us to feel more confident in our position and could really improve work performance.
