Bereavement coaching

The loss of a loved one is something that will never become any easier. No matter what we do or how much we have been expecting it, nothing can prepare us for loosing someone close to us.

People cope with bereavement in different ways and it can be a very confusing and distressing time which is why some people find it often helps to have someone to help guide them through.

There’s no time limit on grief but some people will be able to deal with bereavement quicker than others. When you loose someone close to you it can set off a domino effect of emotions. First creating a sense of disbelief that you will never see this person again. Secondly you might experience shock and this will leave you feeling numb and detached from the world. At some point anger is likely to make an appearance. You might feel as though life is completely unfair and unjust and this in turn might make you try to place the blame on someone or something, or it could even trigger guilt inside yourself, making you think that you didn’t do enough. All of this can ultimately lead to anxiety and depression.

There is no way of avoiding these stages of grief, but a life coach will help you to understand them and will guide you through, hopefully allowing you to see there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Sharing your feelings with others will help you to come to terms with your loss and could lead you to gaining a fresh perspective and move on.
