Goal setting is cruical
An article by the resident life coach over at Accounting Web highlights the importance of setting goals.
This is particularly important in the accounting industry, as well as life coaching in general. Having goals and targets allows tasks and areas of life to be given the priority they require.
The idea of working towards a goal gives motivation and something to focus on – whether the goal be a budget, target, deadline, or a promise to do something- and what the outcome of achieving it will be.
Goals can also be helpful when addressing work/life balance, especially in a stressful job such as accountancy, and goal-setting skills developed at work can be transferred to home life as well.
