Artists use life coach to learn sales techniques
A collective of artists in Wimbledon are using the services of a life coach to help them to promote and sell their artwork, reports the Wimbledon Guardian.
On 14th May the Wimbledon Arts Studio will host their annual open studios event in order to sell their work, and the 200 artists based their are attempting to beat the credit crunch by learning the art of sales.
The artists have been having sessions with a life coach to help them develop sales techniques to try and sell more of their art and beat the downward trend of art buying.
Wimbledon Studio’s artists’ coordinator, Christine Cowdell, said: “We’re even bringing in a professional life coach to help. Sometimes artists won’t push people into buying and we need someone to advise us. We’re not the best as sales people but at the moment it’s not enough to rely on the art to sell itself.”
